The 71st annual Cannes Film Festival kicked off Tuesday, May 8 in Cannes, France. In the past, Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Mallika Sherawat have been present at this event but this year we see a new slew of stars making their Cannes debut.

Huma Qureshi, Kangana Ranaut, Divya Dutta and Mahira Khan will be making their Cannes debut this year. We’ve even got some star men repping at Cannes, India’s top designer, Manish Malhotra and singer and actor Dhanush will also be making their debut on the red carpet.

Here’s the scoop so far:

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone flew straight from the Met Gala to Cannes, which is why she missed Sonam Kapoor’s wedding. The diva has been taking over Cannes while representing L’Oreal Paris starting with some photo shoots.

Padukone goes on to the French Riviera in this adorable striped maxi dress for some fun in the sun and more festival events. There were 20 female filmmakers who debuted their work at this event.

Padukone wore a flowy pink and black dress from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini as she glammed up in her L’Oreal Paris gear.

She hit the red carpet of the film “Sorry Angel” in an intricate nude and white gown with a cape by Zuhair Murad. Padukone looks ethereal in this gown with side-swept soft curls and subtle L’Oreal makeup in shades of brown and nude.

Check out some more looks the actress had while representing the renown international makeup brand at Cannes. She looks adorable in this flowing dress by Monique Lhuillier from their Spring 2018 collection.

She looked like a goddess in this golden Alberta Ferretti gown from their Fall-Winter 2018 collection.

The actress and she is killing it in this deep purple, low-cut suit from MAO. She is working that boss lady look!

Padukone hit the red carpet again, this time in a hot pink structural gown with ruffles by Ashi Studio. She took a bold twist to her eye makeup in this look and a high bun. She made quite a statement at the premiere of “Ash is Purest White.” Padukone is seriously killing it this year at Cannes.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut will be at the event from May 9-11 representing the alcohol brand Grey Goose. Ranaut joins Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Smriti Irani and the Central Board of Film Certification Chairman, Prasoon Joshi at the India Pavilion.

Ranaut’s first outing at Cannes was attending an event at the India Pavilion to be interviewed by Prasoon Joshi. She channeled some old-school Bollywood vibes with 60’s inspired look, complete with poofed hair!

Ranaut kicked off her Cannes debut with a stunning all black Sabyasachi sari embellished sequins for a stunning starry effect and matching jewelry also by Sabyasachi.

Kangana Ranaut @team_kangana_ranaut @festivaldecannes looks resplendent in an ultra-glamorous rendition of our famous ‘‘Aakash-tara’ (i.e. starry skies) saree. The saree is hand-dyed and embellished with hand-cut sequins that are individually sewn using zardosi technique, to create a metallic, yet fluid fabric. Her look is accessorised with a Sabyasachi batua and the ‘teenmaniya’ necklace, crafted out of rose-cut diamonds, Colombian emeralds and basra pearls from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection. When in Cannes, why not have a photo shoot! Ranaut soaks in the sun during a photo shoot for Grey Goose India.

The “Queen” actress made her official red carpet debut in a Zuhair Murad gown that is absolutely dazzling. The form-fitting, sheer gown embellished with glittering stones and sequins has this actress looking like royalty.

Needless to say, Ranaut is rocking Cannes like the queen she is! On day 2 of her Cannes journey, she took on the festival with her fierce team wearing a bright red leather dress by Nanushka. Then she stopped traffic in a sexy outfit by Italian designer Trussardi.

She even squeezed in a quick shopping trip while in Cannes before hitting the red carpet. She looks adorable in this powder blue short dress by Elisabetta Franchi.

Check out this fierce AF red carpet look from the premiere of “Ash is Purest White.” Ranaut looks bold in this silver embroidered jumpsuit by Nedo by Nedret Taciroglu. Her wild curls and smokey eye make up add to this phenomenal look.

Huma Qureshi

Actress Huma Qureshi is also representing Grey Goose India at the Cannes Film Festival along with Ranaut. The actress hit the floor running when she got to the Cannes, attending the opening day ceremonies in a lovely all white Varun Bahl dress. She paired the look with pink lips, a sleek low bun and dangling gold and white earrings by Suhani Pittie.

This Hollywood glam look was followed by a blush pink gown by Paule Ka at the Wild Life after party at Cannes. Qureshi paired it with a long jacket.

Qureshi changed things up on the “Sorry Angel” red carpet. Instead of a princess-like gown like her fellow Bollywood actresses, Qureshi opted for the platinum chip overload bespoke suit by Nikhil Thampi.

The actress rounded out her night in a sparkling Manish Malhotra gown which she paired with a long Drome jacket.

Qureshi takes on this funky look to relax by the pool and enjoy the beautiful sights of Cannes.

Gupta plays the lead character, Noor, a widow who wishes to play Holi but it is against tradition. Gupta wore a lovely flowing royal blue dress designed by her daughter and celebrity designer Masaba Gupta and Khanna looked handsome in all black.

Check out these two at the French Riviera promoting their film once again soaking in that sun in bright shades of yellow and orange.

This isn’t the first time the actress has hit the Cannes red carpet, she has looked stunning every year and this year is no different. The actress attended the “Sorry Angel” red carpet in a pale lavender gown by Tony Ward from the Spring-Summer 2018 collection.
