At the 2023 Met Gala, which celebrates the exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, honoring the late designer, the singer appeared in a gothic sheer lace black dress, flaunting her gorgeous curves.
The “Happier Than Ever” singer paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s legacy by appearing in a custom Simone Rocha black and lace gown, with a high neck, crystal harness, and glittering tulle skirt. She complimented the gothic look with lace sleeves, knee-high stockings, and towering platform heels. The musician’s look was indeed a feast to the eyes.

Another important feature of Billie Eilish’s 2023 Met Gala look was her ponytail, gracefully braided by hairstylist Benjamin Mohap. Not only this but he recreated Lagerfeld’s legacy of plaiting them in onyx ribbons, adding details to her Chanel dress. He said:
“Whenever I think of Lagerfeld, I think of black bow. I finished the look with barrettes stacked into the loose texture of the hair pulled back,” says Mohapi. “This invokes the same punk spirit Lagerfeld injected into Chanel and mirrors Billie’s own nonconformist attitude.”
In three back-to-back appearances at the prestigious annual ceremony, Billie Eilish has conveyed it loud and clear, that she knows how to live up to the Met Gala dress codes. For instance, last year, Billie Eilish attended the Gala, honoring the “Gilded Glamour” theme in a Gucci gown.
From shiny icy blue and beige corset and lavender flowers to gathered off-white skirt, she did live up to the theme. She shared that her gown was made of “all existing materials so we didn’t have to waste a bunch of stuff — this all already existed, and [we] just wanted to be as eco-friendly as possible.”
The musician served as the youngest co-chair during her debut Met Gala in 2021. As she sat alongside Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Gorman, the singer flaunted her peach Oscar de la Renta corset ball gown, as she opted for blonde bob hair.
