American model, Alton Mason, who shares a fond professional connection with late designer Karl Lagerfeld, decided to pay tribute to his legacy at the 2023 Met Gala in a rather creative way. The 25-year-old model appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, dressed as ‘Chanel Bride’.

Alton Mason is the most talked about celebrity from the 2023 Met Gala, which celebrated the “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” theme on Monday (May 1) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. As a tribute to the late designer, the 25-year-old model appeared in a gorgeous Chanel bridal gown.
The model, who made his acting debut with Elvis, donned a white Chanel cut-out bridal dress with a long veil. The dress was worn by socialite Sofia Richie, at her filthy-rich wedding. Alton’s dress boasted a shimmery turtle neck and bejeweled elbow patches.
The model did not hesitate to flaunt his perfect chest as his midriff remained covered in a corset. The see-through netted pattern ran down to his legs, as the dress displayed a gorgeous flowery pattern. Alton completed this look with huge shoes, white nails, and that must-bridal bouquet in hand.

If you aren’t aware, in 2018, the Jamaican-Ghanaian model was cast by Lagerfeld in Chanel’s Métier d’art show, becoming the first Black male model to walk in a show for the fashion brand in the 108-year-old history of the renowned brand.
Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019 at 85, was known for his signature look, combing dark sunglasses with white hair pulled back into a ponytail. He often appeared on magazine covers alongside his pampered pet, Choupette.
