Louis Leterrier to Replace Justin Lin as director in ‘Fast X’
Yes, you heard it right. Louis Leterrier is all geared to be the director of Fast X. As per the reports of Variety, the decision comes less than a week after Lin’s surprise departure from the helm of the 10th installment in the main “Fast and Furious” movie franchise.
Lin issued a statement regarding his departure from the film on April 27. The statement read, “With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of Fast X while remaining with the project as a producer.”

Justin further added, “On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew, and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the Fast family.”

Louis Leterrier is a French film director and producer. He was born on June 17, 1973, in Paris, France. He is the son of director François Leterrier and costume designer Catherine Leterrier. He is the nephew of politician Laurent Fabius and antiquarian François Fabius. His mother guided him a lot artistically.
Leterrier started as a young drummer for a music group before experimenting with short films. He began acquiring some training in advertising and publicity at the age of 18. Soon afterward he left France to study cinema at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
To date, he has been associated with some amazing projects including the first two Transporter films, Unleashed (2005), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Clash of the Titans (2010), Now You See Me (2013), and the streaming television series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019).
When did Louis step into the world of cinema?
The 48-year-old started his journey in the year 1997 by assisting Jean-Pierre Jeunet on the set of the science drama film Alien Resurrection. After that, he moved back to France and ended up working with Luc Besson on the production of commercials for Club Internet and L’Oréal as well as on the film Joan of Arc.
Leterrier also collaborated with Alain Chabat on the production of Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre (2002). He played the role of a second assistant director for the project.
After a while, Louis directed the film The Transporter. The movie starred Jason Statham in the lead role. He wore the director’s cap for Unleashed, a full-length martial arts film in the year 2004. Then, he joined hands with Luc Besson for part two of the movie The Transporter. The sequel of the film was titled ‘Transporter 2.’
