Vogue’s First Women of the Year Awards Honors B-Town’s Brightest
Bollywood’s most beautiful and brightest stars came out for the very first Vogue Women of the Year Awards at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt Hotel. Vogue India held the awards to celebrate their successful completion of 10 years.
Stars went all out for this event which saw the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, Athiya Shetty, Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Padma Lakshmi, Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and more. The event was hosted by Emmy-award winning actor Archie Punjabi.
Some big names took home awards for their work this year in film, media, fashion, and more. Aishwariya Rai Bachchan was presented with the Vogue Influencer of the Decade award.
Twinkle Khanna took home the Vogue Opinion Maker of the Year award which, we think, is totally well-deserved. Khanna is brilliantly witty and she even received her award with a very opinionated speech filled with life lessons that hit everything from Karwa Chauth, to pads, to aging. Anushka Sharma won the Vogue and BMW Game Changer of the Year Award. The talented actress took to social media to thank Vogue. Fashion designer Manish Malhotra presented her the award and congratulated her via Instagram in a loving post.
Karan Johar was presented with the Vogue Man of the Year award. No surprise there. Johar has versatile talent with and his influence reaches beyond India.
Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the Vogue Entertainer of the Decade award. Again, not a surprise! How can there be a better entertainer than Khan? The man lives on the energy of his fans and works tirelessly to keep their love.
Sonam Kapoor once again took home the honor of Vogue and IWC Fashion Icon of the Year Award. This time the fashionista was awarded the honor by her own father. She thanked her sister Rhea Kapoor on social media for being her fabulous stylist.
