These five artists collectively hold the record of winning 43 Grammys as well as hold 22 albums among them at No. 1 position on the Billboard 200.

“On February 13, 2022, at the Super Bowl,” Jay-Z said in a statement, “Dr. Dre, a musical visionary from Compton; Snoop Dogg, an icon from Long Beach; and Kendrick Lamar, a young musical pioneer in his own right, also from Compton; will take center field for a performance of a lifetime.

They will be joined by the lyrical genius, Eminem; and the timeless Queen, Mary J. Blige … This is history in the making.”

Pepsi and the NFL have joined hands supporting the launch of Regional School #1, South Los Angeles high school that will be opening next fall. This school is based on a program founded by Jimmy Iovine and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young – USC Iovine and Young Academy.

Pepsi and the NFL are not just lending a hand for the philanthropic project but are also geared up to join hands with the school, its partners as well as the local community for developing and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“This effort will help develop and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators,” Los Angeles Unified Interim Superintendent Megan K. Reilly said. “We are excited about the additional opportunities this partnership will bring to our students.”

The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show 2022 marks the third year of collaboration for Pepsi, the NFL, and Roc Nation who are quite excited to rope in these five hip-hop artists of different genres to offer a larger-than-life experience who are set to perform the best numbers from their collections.

Previously, it was The Weeknd who featured in the collaboration in 2021 whereas Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were roped in 2020.

Todd Kaplan, VP of Marketing, Pepsi in a statement said, “Artists like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were at the forefront of the West Coast hip hop revolution, so to be able to bring them back to LA, where it all began alongside Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar will prove to be an epic, unforgettable celebration of the impact hip hop has today.”

“The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show has become a landmark cultural moment, bringing about some of the most iconic performances over the years – from JLo and Shakira to Lady Gaga to The Weeknd – and we are thrilled to bring together such an incredible array of talented, record-breaking musicians to put on a performance for the ages.”

DPS will be producing the telecast of the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show whereas Roc Nation and Jesse Collins would be the executive producers. Hamish Hamilton would be wearing the hat of the director.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Dr. Dre.

“I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”
