We often tend to forget that even the most successful celebs are humans after all. You may have read about Gerard Piqué getting caught listening to Shakira’s songs, but you gotta see Shakira’s new cryptic video on Instagram, and yea, the Columbian singer too is heartbroken. Following her bitter separation from the football player, it seems like Shakira hasn’t healed yet. Read on to know more about her new Instagram video.
Knew This Would Happen…
While it’s hard to believe that Shakira would post a hurtful video for her ongoing ‘tax fraud’ case in Spain, one can surely believe that she is left heartbroken after her split from Gerard Pique in June. The Columbian singer posted a “hurtful” video of a “human heart getting stomped” in her recent Instagram post.
The “Queen of Latin Music captioned it: “I never said anything, but it hurt me. I knew this would happen.” It’s clear that the 45-year-old singer is dealing with the aftermath of her recent split from her partner, ending their decade-old relationship. However, fans were left confused if it was regarding her ongoing case, an upcoming album or Gerard.
Well, let me tell you, the video has everything to do with Gerard. If you don’t remember, Shakira shared a quote in a previous video that read, “It was the fault of monotony.” Fans and celebrities immediately took to her comment section to express their thoughts, and well their sympathies too.
American blogger Perez Hilton was a bit more sarcastic, as he wrote: “Pique? Spain? the press? All?” Carlos Vives wrote, “I love you so much Shack!!!!! ❤️” A fan sided with Shakira and wrote, “Too much woman for so little man!” Another fan wrote, “Monetizing separation 🔥👏”
One fan came up with his theory, and wrote, “Did someone elaborate in the background? I think it’s her trying to grab her heart before they step on it!” Another consoled her by writing: “Hopefully one day in some place, time and planet you find a man who loves and values you… Meanwhile, we will enjoy your songs.”
Why Did Shakira And Gerard Split?
The Columbian singer and FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique were together since 2011, until they confirmed their split in June 2022. The ex-couple shared the saddening news about their separation via their PR agency:
“We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the wellbeing of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy,” the statement read. Shakira and Pique share two children and met for the first time after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa when Gerard featured in Shakira’s Waka Waka (This Time For Africa).
As for the reason for their split, even though the former love birds asked for discretion, Shakira’s sister’s ex-boyfriend Roberto Garcia revealed that the pop star and Gerard “ended their love affair due to disagreements on financial grounds. Well, that’s what her recent posts reflect.
Apart from this heartbreak, Shakira is entangled in a nasty “tax fraud case” in Spain. In May, a Spanish court denied the Columbian singer’s appeal in a Tax Fraud case, paving the way for a trial after a judge previously concluded that there is enough evidence that she avoided her fiscal obligations. Prosecutors allege that she lived mostly in Spain despite having an official residence in the Bahamas and evaded her tax obligations. Shakira, on the other hand, has pleaded “not guilty”.
