Yes, you read that right. Miss Texas R’Bonney Gabriel has won the Miss USA crown at the competition. Miss North Carolina Morgan Romano became the runner-up, meanwhile, Miss Nebraska Natalie Pieper was named the second runner-up.
For those of you who are unversed, let us share with you, the Miss USA 2022 pageant was organized at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on October 3, 2022. The show also included a special performance by classical pianist extraordinaire Chloe Flower.

R’Bonney Gabriel who will now be representing America at Miss Universe 2022 is Filipina American. She is a model and fashion designer by profession. She hails from Bayou city. In the past, she has even designed some of the gowns that she has worn on the stage.
Apart from this, Gabriel also has an eco-friendly clothing line that goes by the name of R’Bonney Nola. Her clothing line consists of everything from dresses to denim to T-shirts.
In an Instagram video, R’Bonney also spilled the beans on how she designed her red dress for the opening number from recycled materials. She took to her Instagram and wrote, “With fashion being one of the largest polluting industries in the world, I love to re-use old pieces to make something new and fabulous to cut down on waste.”
Apart from being a fashion designer and model, at the moment, Gabriel also teaches sewing at Magpies and Peacocks fashion house in Houston.
A little bit about R’Bonney Gabriel’s personal life
We are pretty sure R’Bonney Gabriel’s parents must be extremely proud of their daughter. When we talk about her parents, her mom is from the Lone Star state, on the other hand, her dad is from the Philippines.
As per the reports of the Houston Chronicle, R’Bonney’s father Bon Gabriel immigrated from Manila at the young age of 19, and then, he went on to bag a doctorate degree in psychology at the University of Houston.
R’Bonney attended University of North Texas. She graduated from the university with a bachelor’s degree in fashion design with a minor in fibers. Back in the day, she was placed the second at both Miss Houston and Miss Kemah 2021 but she wanted to improve and get better.
In a media interaction, R’Bonney said, “I had to make sure I was strong in every category. I worked really hard every day the past eight months. I wanted to outwork the competition and go in feeling confident.” And we must say, her hard work has paid off.
