Not even celebrity homes with the highest security are safe, and LA has become a hot spot for crimes like home invasions and burglary. A few days before Megan Thee Stallion was set to host and perform on “Saturday Night Live”, the American rapper’s LA home was robbed. The 27-year-old star shared the news on Twitter about the home invasion and burglary on Thursday (Oct. 13).

Megan Thee Stallion, 27 has reacted to her LA home invasion and burglary that took place on Thursday (Oct. 13) while she is away in New York to host the upcoming “Saturday Night Live” episode. Soon after it was reported that the rapper’s Los Angeles home was invaded, Megan wrote on Twitter yesterday: “Material things can be replaced but I’m glad everyone is safe.”
Per law enforcement sources, two men broke into Megan’s property and stole over $300,000 to $400,000 worth of jewellery, cash and electronic devices. At the time of the robbery, Megan wasn’t present in her home. However, the “Thot Shit” star responded by stating that safety is more important than material things, and is glad that everyone is safe.
While the 27-year-old rapper looks on the bright side of what happened, she is certainly exhausted and wants to take a break after hosting “SNL”. Yesterday (Oct. 14), Megan tweeted, “Hotties I’m really sorry but after SNL I really gotta take a break, I’m so tired, physically and emotionally.”
Several news outlets have reported that the alleged robbers broke into her house by smashing a glass door of the primary bedroom. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident but these robbers are still on the run. LAPD hasn’t responded to requests for comment.
House Invasions In LA, A Common Affair…
As Megan Thee Stallion shared the “shattering news” on Twitter, her fans came forward to support and console the star. However, they are heartbroken after she announced a brief hiatus following her second SNL appearance, after her 2020 “Savage” performance on the show.
As for crimes like home invasion and burglary, Megan Thee Stallion is not the first celebrity who has fallen victim to a major robbery. Over the last few years, the Los Angeles area has become a hub for scary home invasions. Well, escalating crimes in the city, prove that even military-grade security cannot scare off burglars, as they continue to ransack celebrities’ homes.
Over the last six months, reality stars such as Christine Quinn AND Dorit Kemsley were among a number of celebrities who became easy targets for intruders, most of them armed. If you’re not aware, in early March, Christine Quinn’s LA home was intruded on by armed robbers, however, they could never make it into her house because of ultra-strong windows.
As for a broader picture, in 2016, Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint while robbers took off with $10 million in jewellery from her rented Paris apartment. This year, Victoria and David Beckham became victims of a scary home invasion in their London home while their 10-year-old daughter was asleep. Luckily, the family did not experience any harm, apart from the fact that several valuables were stolen.
However, the most-shaking case of burglary in LA still remains that of Clarence Avant. The Grammy award-winning music executive’s wife, Jacquline Avant was shot dead in her Los Angeles home in December 2021. The burglar managed to flee with several valuables. However, he was arrested while committing another burglary. As for Megan, she just got lucky, didn’t she?
