The White House made the announcement on 15th March that second gentleman Doug Emhoff has tested Covid positive. While Vice President Kamala Harris has tested negative she has cut down her schedule because of her husband’s positive test.
Harris spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said, “Out of an abundance of caution, the Vice President will not participate in tonight’s event. The Vice President tested negative for COVID-19 today and will continue to test.”
Emhoff is new to the list of high-profile Democrats who have been tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days at a time when local officials have scaled back covid protocols like wearing masks and vaccine regulations.

Even former US President Barack Obama informed over the weekend that he had tested positive. Eight House Democrats including Pennsylvania’s Madeleine Dean and Connecticut’s Rosa DeLauro have also tested positive.
US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday evening at an event, “He’s feeling very well, I’m told. Let’s send her our love”. On Sunday (13th March) Biden tested negative according to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Biden is scheduled to meet NATO leaders in Brussels next week.
Harris tweeted on Tuesday evening, “Doug is doing fine and we are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted. I have tested negative and will continue to test.”
