Kanye West continues to see many defeats amid his controversies – ranging from the “White Lives Matter” scandal, to his anti-semitic comments, which he doesn’t regret at all. As a result, French fashion house Balenciaga broke all its ties with the 45-year-old rapper, giving him a huge financial blow.
Now, Ye has decided to hire the best attorney to sort out his business troubles, and what can be better than Camille Vasquez, remember her arguments from Johnny Depp’s defamation trial? Yea, Kanye has hired Johnny’s defamation trial attorney and the Brown Rudnick firm to handle his business interest.
Hiring The Best Out There…
After Johnny’s defamation trial win, Camille Vasquez has reached new heights. From becoming a partner of the firm where she was an associate, to getting many high-profile cases, Vasquez has established her name as a promising lawyer.
Now, Ye has vested his faith in the Brown Rudnick firm, especially Camille, who will be among a group of attorneys representing Kanye’s business interests — contracts, deals, the works. The move comes amid the recent news that Balenciaga has cut ties with the 45-year-old rapper.
Following Ye’s controversies, ranging from “White Lives Matter” to his recent anti-semitic remarks, the French fashion house announced on Friday (Oct. 21) that it has severed its ties with the 45-year-old rapper.
Its parent company, Kering released a statement, saying, “Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist.” The French fashion house has removed Ye’s runway image from both Vogue’s and Balenciaga’s website. Not only this but pieces of his Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collab were also removed from Gap’s site.
This marks the end of one of Kanye’s most important business relationships, giving him a real hit. balenciaga’s statement was released following the third-quarter earnings report, which was presented this week. Now, Camille and the Brown Rudnick firm will be taking over towards securing his existing business interests.
Is Camille Promising For This Role?
Vogue called Vasquez an “overnight celebrity” as a consequence of the Johnny Depp trial, and she was promoted from associate to partner at her firm, Brown Rudnick. While there is little doubt about Camille Vasquez’s legal skills, let us not forget that most of her career revolves around litigation and arbitration, particularly in defamation litigation.
As for her experience, handling business matters for such a high-profile celebrity seems like a bit too much, however, but again, there are many other talented attorneys in the Brown Rudnick firm, who actually have experience in handling such cases. In this manner, Camille will surely have the requisite guidance.
As for Ye, the ‘Donda’ rapper has also been cancelled by his native place too, following his comments about George Floyd’s death and anti-Semitic tweets. On his recent appearance at “Drink Champs”, Ye told podcasters N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN THAT George Floyd did not die due to being suffocated by a police officer’s knee, instead, he died from fentanyl.
Power. Disloyalty. Greed. Deicide. Blood. Denial. Anti-Zionism. All of these are antisemitic tropes that we break down in our #AntisemitismUncovered Guide at https://t.co/1D3LOM8xXQ. Many of these myths have influenced @KanyeWest's comments recently, and it's dangerous. https://t.co/fKQLPFkDR2

Well, Floyd’s family is considering filing a defamation lawsuit against the rapper and responded to the false claims via their civil rights attorney Lee Merritt. “While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death. Don’t you think Vasquez would be apt for this case? Well, she surely fits the profile. As for Ye’s business matters, I don’t think it’s a great choice. Well, the lady likes new challenges.
