In an accident earlier this month, in which a snow plow ran over Renner, he had broken more than 30 bones.
Following his New Year’s Day accident, the actor shared a post on Instagram on Saturday that provided fans with an update on his condition.
Snowplow Accident Leaves Jeremy Renner With 30 Broken Bones
As a result of being run over by a snowplow earlier this month, Jeremy Renner has begun physical therapy to heal the more than 30 fractures he has suffered.
In a photo posted on Instagram on Saturday morning, the Mayor of Kingstown star was seen lying on the floor with his eyes closed as a physical therapist stretched his knee as he was discharged from the hospital earlier this week.
Renner captioned the post with the following: “Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular New Year’s …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love,” “I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30-plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens. Love and blessings to you all.”
He received a lot of love and support in the comments section of his post from fans and fellow celebrities, including Heidi Klum, Jason Momoa, Eiza González, and Chris Hemsworth, his Avengers costar from the Marvel movies. The movie’s star Chris Hemsworth said to him, “You’re a champion, mate! We love you.”
In response to Renner’s tweet, Chris Evans retweeted it and praised his friend’s strength, adding, “That’s one tough mf’er. Has anyone even checked on the snowcat??? Sending so much love.”
A Surgery Was Performed On Renner’s Injuries The Next Day
On New Year’s Day, Renner was crushed by a snowplow on his Nevada property and suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries due to the accident. According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, he had been using the snow plow to assist a family member stuck in the snow and had stepped out of it to speak with them when it ran him over.
When first responders arrived at the scene, the actor was conscious and airlifted to the hospital, where he had surgery the next day for his injuries. During a news conference on Jan. 3, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said that authorities are investigating what caused the snowplow to move. However, he added that there is no suspicion of foul play and that they believed this to be a tragic accident.
A photo of Renner, who was in the hospital at the time, was posted to Renner’s Twitter account on the same day, and he thanked everyone for their good wishes. “Thank you all for your kind words,” he wrote. “I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
A Recording Of The 911 Call Was Released Two Days Ago As Part Of The Investigation Into The Incident
In addition, two days ago, a recording of the 911 call made following the accident was made public as part of the investigation. During the phone call, Renner heard groaning in pain after the call lasted more than 20 minutes.
During the call, the caller yelled out and asked the authorities to come immediately to his residence, saying that someone with life-saving techniques was needed to assist him.
