GoT’s Emilia Clarke Says She’s Missing Parts of Brain After Surviving Aneurysms

Recently, the Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke made a big revelation and it just blew our minds. During her latest interaction with BBC Sunday Morning, the Hollywood actress stated that she is missing quite a bit of her brain after surviving two aneurysms.

In her recent interaction with BBC Sunday Morning, Emilia Clarke aka Daenerys Targaryen disclosed that she suffered two terrifying aneurysms while filming HBO’s Game of Thrones. She first suffered aneurysms in the year 2011 and then in 2013.

During her interview with the media outlet, the 35-year-old actress revealed that a few parts of her brain were missing due to the surgeries she had back in the day. She also went on to say that she was grateful for her restored health.

The Me Before You star said, “The amount of my brain that is no longer usable – it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately, and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions.”

Emilia’s condition was pretty serious at that point

Clarke elaborated and stated that her condition was deadly and her recovery was nothing short of a miracle. She continued, “I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.”

Emilia further added that after seeing the scan of her brain, she discovered that parts of her brain were missing. She told Metro UK, “There’s quite a bit missing! Which always makes me laugh.”

She continued, “Because strokes, basically, as soon as any part of your brain doesn’t get blood for a second, it’s gone. And so the blood finds a different route to get around but then whatever bit it’s missing is therefore gone.”

The Last Christmas star first started feeling something wasn’t right in 2011 after the first season of Game of Thrones got wrapped up. She also said while filming season 2, “every day I thought I was going to die.”

According to the report of Mayo Clinic, aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. In short, it is almost like a berry hanging on a stem.

Some common symptoms of a ruptured aneurysm are as follows: Nausea, Vomiting, Stiff neck, Blurred or double vision, Sensitivity to light, Seizure, A drooping eyelid, Loss of consciousness, and Confusion.

In the case of a ruptured aneurysm, a person immediately requires some medical treatment. This condition is life-threatening and a patient with an aneurysm needs to get immediate attention from the end of doctor to get better as soon as possible.
