Finneas O’Connell believes that he is lucky to be alive after meeting with a severe accident that left him with broken bones and injuries.
The record producer and musician had the accident while riding an electric bike.
What Happened?
Finneas took to Instagram to share what had happened. “Last Friday, I had the pleasure of crashing my electric bike, flying over the handlebars and absolutely demolishing my collarbone as well as sustaining a radial head fracture to my right elbow,” he wrote.
He also had to get surgery and wrote “The severity of the displacement of my collarbone meant I required surgery which I am now on the other side of and I’m feeling great!” He went on to thank the doctors and the hospital for the “incredible treatment I feel so privileged to have received.”
The rehabilitation process is going to be a long one for the actor, but he is grateful to his girlfriend Claudia Sulewski for “dropping everything to take care of me the second this happened.”
Lesson Learned Forever
Finneas also reassured the fans that he would work hard to accompany his little sister to The Forum in New York City in December. The musician admitted that he was not wearing a helmet and added that it was a “lesson forever learned.”
Electric bikes may not be the thing for celebrities. Back in February, Simon Cowell took a tumble and ended up breaking his wrist and hurting his head after riding an electric bike. He was not wearing a helmet either.
8 Grammys and Billie Eilish
Finneas O’Connell is Billie Eilish’s older brother. Apart from that ,he has worked with a number of reputed names in the industry too. Finneas has won 8 Grammys out of 13 nominations and he is only 25 years old.
He was the youngest act to win the Producer of the Year in Non-Classical category. His collaboration with Billie Eilish won the duo Record of the Year two years in a row. Together, they have also won Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Engineered- Non-Classical.
Their work on the song No Time To Die won them an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award apart from a Grammy.
Solo Work and Acting
Although his association with Billie Eilish has been responsible for most of his accolades, he is quite talented and successful on his own. For his solo project, he got nominated for Best New Artist.
As an actor, he debuted in the 2013 movie called Life Inside Out. After that, he was seen as Alistair in the popular comedy-drama series Glee. He also appeared in one episode of the Modern Family where he played the role of the neighbor’s kid.
He credited his writing abilities to being an actor as he was able to change perspectives and write songs that are suitable for Billie’s range.
The Los Angeles native has also worked on Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez and two tracks on the album Romance for Camilla Cabello.
