Shane Warne’s net worth and other details

Shane Warne was born in the year 1969 in Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria, suburbs of Melbourne. He attended Hampton High School. He was offered a sports scholarship to enroll at Mentone Grammar. Warne spent his last three years of schooling at Mentone.

Early days of Cricket & Football

He represented the University of Melbourne Cricket Club in the then Victorian Cricket Association under-16 Dowling Shield competition during the 1983-84 season. He used to bowl a mixture of leg-spin and off-spin.

Next season Warne joined the St Kilda Cricket Club. He then played five games of Australian rules football for the St Kilda Football Club’s under-19 team and went on to play many matches.

Cricket Career

In 1991, Warne made his first-class cricket debut against Western Australia at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. His scorecard was 0/61 and 1/41 for Victoria. He was later selected for the Australia B team.

Shane Warne is the second-highest wicket-taker in the history of test cricket who picked up 708 wickets in 145 Tests for Australia in a celebrated career spanning 15 years from 1992 to 2007. He also took 293 wickets in one-day international matches.

Warne is the second bowler in the world after Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan who took more than 1000 international wickets (One day International and test).

In 2007, Warne retired from international cricket after Australia’s 5–0 Ashes series victory over England. He received many accolades in his professional career spanning around two decades like ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and the Cricket Hall of Fame by Cricket Australia.

Warne played 194 ODI matches for Australia. He scored 1,018 runs in ODI matches and 3,154 runs in test matches in his professional career.
