Lay Zhang, a member of the K-pop band EXO has bid goodbye to SM Entertainment. He has decided quit the Seoul-based media agency after a decade as his contract came to an end. Coincidentally, the news came out on the 10th debut anniversary of EXO.

Zhang Yixing popularly known as Lay Zhang or Lay took to social media to announce that he is leaving SM Entertainment. He posted the pictures of a handwritten letter in both English and Korean. “This decade is one of the greatest gifts I could’ve ever received”, he captioned the Instagram post.
Lay issued a handwritten letter, that read, “Ten years of growth. Thank you all. Thank you to my EXO brothers for your company and encouragement. Thanks to my colleagues at SM for witnessing every step of my growth and achievement. Thank you to all of my fans for your unconditional love and support.”
Zhang further continued in the letter, “It’s time to say goodbye as an employee of SM. It’s also my new beginning as a 30-year old. But I will always be the Lay when my members need me. I’m your family member in China, Zhang Yixing. Love you forever.”
How many members are there in the K-pop band EXO?
The band EXO consists of nine members and they are as follows: Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun. The Korean boy band was formed by SM Entertainment in the year 2011. They came into the spotlight in 2012. They are well-known for releasing music in Korean, Mandarin, and Japanese.
