The much-awaited Dubai Expo 2020 which got postponed last year due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic is all set to take place in Dubai starting Friday, October 1. Dubai is geared up to host the first-ever World Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates.
The Dubai Expo 2020 will be held from the 1st of October, 2021, and will continue till the 31st of March, 2022. The original dates scheduled for this event were 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 which were postponed due to the pandemic.
Although the Expo got postponed, this world exposition will still be held as Expo 2020 only by the organizers for the sake of marketing and branding.

It has to be noted that this is the first time that a World Exposition has not been canceled and rather been postponed. Dubai has been named as the host city by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris in 2013.
This grand event will be held in between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Dubai Expo 2020 which is considered one of the world’s greatest shows is expected to have 60 shows every day. There will be 191 country pavilions as well as over 200 restaurants at the venue of the event.

The event which would continue for a period of six months is expected to attract 25 million visitors. Also, 70 percent of the visitors would be from outside the Emirates.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that Dubai Expo 2020 will ‘astonish the world’.
For a campaign of the Dubai Expo 2020, the Emirates brought in Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth.
Dubai Expo 2020: Themes and Sub-themes
“Connecting Minds and Creating the Future” is the theme of this Expo. It is aimed at inspiring people via three more sub-themes – Sustainability, Mobility, and Opportunity. Further, each sub-theme will be having its own pavilion.

AGi Architects designed the Opportunity pavilion, Foster and Partners designed the Mobility pavilions whereas Grimshaw Architects is the designer of the Sustainability Pavilion.
The Sustainability district will have a sustainability pavilion, a Hammour House, a district stage, Water the desert Czech Republic’s, Wear cutting-edge devices Germany’s, Enter a rainforest Singapore’s, and more.
The Mobility Pavilion will have the world’s largest passenger lift that has the capacity of transporting more than 160 people

How to Witness the Dubai Expo 2020? Ticket Booking and Price
Well, if you are willing to join the Dubai Expo 2020, all you need to do is to book your tickets via the official website of the Expo. You have a number of options while booking your ticket.
If you want to have the premium experience, then you can buy the most expensive tickets – Premium Experience ones which are priced at INR 37, 547.13.
There are three types of passes that one can book for the event – daily, monthly and seasonal passes. The daily pass as the name suggests would allow entry only for one day costing USD 26 / AED 95 ( INR 1,920).
The monthly pass that would allow unrestricted entry for 30 consecutive days is priced at USD 53 / AED 195 (INR 3,941). One can even book the seasonal tickets that would allow unrestricted entry at the event i.e., for the full six months of Expo 2020 by shelling out USD 135 / AED 495 (INR 10,004).
However, it has to be noted that entry is free for children below 18 years. Also, there is free entry at the Expo 2020 to the students having valid ID cards from any recognized academic institution in the world. Visitors above 60 years of age will also have free entry to the event.
Visitors will have to follow social distancing and use masks. Also, either they have to be vaccinated or have a negative PCR test to make their entry at the event.
