Did ‘The Simpsons’ predict Monkeypox?

The answer to the above question is a big no. Let us set the record straight once and for all, the American sitcom The Simpsons did not predict the disease Monkeypox. Not long ago, two pictures of Homer Simpson were circulating on the internet leading to the rumors of the show and Monkeypox.

The fans of the show state that Homer has Monkeypox and that the writers of the show predicted the spread of the virus and should be investigated. For those of you who are unaware, Monkeypox is an orthopoxvirus, a family that includes the now eradicated smallpox virus.

In reality, the two pictures have been picked up from two different episodes and they were broadcasted on different dates. In one image we catch sight of Homer with an ape chilling and in another shot, we can see Homer with bumps all over his face and body and it is actually a Chickenpox infection and not Monkeypox.

When did the show ‘The Simpsons’ get started?

The first episode of the show The Simpsons premiered on December 19, 1989. It is one of the longest-running shows in history. As of now, the show is in its 33rd season and it is being renewed for the 34th season.
