Actress Twinkle Khanna who is quite active on social media and keeps sharing interesting stuff for her fans took to her Instagram handle today and shared yet another interesting health secret of hers. She revealed that she eats orange peels too along with the fruit by sharing their health benefits.

The actress also shared different ways of recycling the peels of citrus fruit. With the ongoing Covid pandemic, most of us are being more health-conscious and trying to increase our immunity levels. We all are aware of the fact that the consumption of citrus fruits is very beneficial to us at this point in time. Twinkle Khanna took to her Instagram account on July 1 and shared a post by including a radiant picture of herself wearing a crisp white shirt and holding two sliced orange rings.

She wrote, “A secret-I eat citrus peels as well, orange peels have more fibre than the fleshy fruit (sic).” She further added, “I add the powdered rinds to my garden patch, and sometimes use it as a body scrub. She shared the health benefits of eating orange peels. She even shared with her fans her ideas on recycling basic household items.

Health Benefits of Orange Peels

Orange peels are packed with lots of fibre and vitamin C. The citrus peels which are anti-inflammatory are bundled with antioxidant bioflavonoids and bone-strengthening calcium. The potassium content in the peels helps in keeping the blood pressure in check. The limonene in the citrus peels helps in dealing with heartburn apart from providing anti-cancer effects.

For those who are unaware, the orange peels are bundled with lots of fibre, vitamin B6, vitamin C, folate along with few other nutrients.
