A 14-year-old rapper, Notti Osama, whose real name is Ethan Reyes, was fatally stabbed in an altercation that took place at 137th Street/City College subway station in Manhattan. It is reported that the teen rapper got into a messy fight with a 15-year-old rival at 3 pm on July 9, 2022. Sadly, Osama passed away at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital following severe injuries.

Yonkers rapper, Notti Osama (real name Ethan Reyes) lost his life at just 14. The brutal incident took place on July 9, 2022, after Osama was fatally stabbed following an altercation with a 15-year-old rival.
Law enforcement revealed that the reason behind this fight isn’t known yet, but it is clear that rivalry played an integral part in Notti Osama’s death. The 15-year-old accused is presently in custody, and was initially charged with “first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession.”
As for Notti Osama’s background, little is known about the rapper. What we know is that he was a 14-year-old drill rapper from Yonkers, New York. The deceased rapper was the younger brother of rising hip-hop artist, DD Osama, whose real name is Derrick Dewayne Osman. Notti was the youngest of six children, and hard recently released his single, “Without You”.
Who Killed Notti Osama?
The identity of the 15-year-old rival, who stabbed Notti Osama to death, is not known yet due to legal reasons. He was initially charged with first-degree murder and criminal possession, but that changed after the prosecutors were informed that it was Reyes who cornered the accused. When he got outnumbered by Notti, the accused stabbed him to death.
As for evidence, the local police found a knife and a broomstick at the scene. The crime was also recorded on camera so there is no doubt that the accused is not guilty. The accused too suffered stab wounds and was taken to the New York Presbyterian Hospital. MTA Nyc president, Richard Davey released a statement, stating:
“We thank NYPD detectives, with whom we cooperated, for the rapid arrest of a suspect. That he and the victim are said to have known each other further underscores this senseless nature of this tragic incident.”
Tributes Pour In For Notti Osama
The first person to pay tribute to Notti Osama’s untimely death was his older brother, DD Osama. He also shared a TikTok video where he mentioned that his brother would still be there if he were present at the scene.
Notti and DD also collaborated on a second track together, Dead Opps. Last year, a candlelight memorial was also held in Manhattan. His friends referred to the rapper as a person with a “million-dollar smile”.
Osama’s friends also launched a GoFundMe page for his funeral, and around $5,700 were collected by July 11 against the goal of $10,000. Having said that, gang rivalries are a common affair among rappers, and, sadly, even teens have been looped into the same. We hope this darkness ends someday!
