This weekend was engulfed with news of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s engagement. The stream of social media posts and news updates were so constant that it was hard to keep track of everything. We’re here to help.

It all started with Nick and his parents arriving in India.

The paparazzi were eagerly waiting outside Chopra’s home to catch a glimpse of the preparations and were rewarded when a pandit arrived early that morning. Later employees were seen arriving with boxes of mithai as well.

Before we knew it, Jonas and Chopra officially announced their engagement through an Instagram post on Saturday, August 18. They both posted the same photo, a selfie of the two looking lovingly at each other.

Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love.

They both also posted a group of snaps on the social media platform from their Roka ceremony. All three Jonas’ brothers were decked out in desi attire and took part in the religious rituals. Chopra wore an intricate yellow Chikankari outfit by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla Couture.

Cousin Parineeti Chopra was also in attendance and posted a loving message to her big sister and new brother-in-law on Instagram. The younger Chopra sister enthusiastically welcomed Nick, stating he was the perfect match for Priyanka.

Today I witnessed magic and a fairytale … When we were kids, mimi didi and I used to play “ghar ghar”. We would pretend to be shy brides, have imaginary children, and serve tea to our husbands! 🙈🙈 cheesy, but its because we always believed in the magic of love and hoped we would both find that perfect man for us one day!! Today there was no pretending. I cant think of a more a perfect man for her. Like I said this morning, there are two ways of judging a human being. One – travel with them, and two, eat with them. Nick, I have done both with you. And so I know you’re perfect for her!! Love her, because she loves you like mad! Protect her, because shes strong, but a soft soul inside. I love you both and wish you all the happiness forever!!!!! HAPPY ROKA AND FUTURE WEDDING!! 💍💑@priyankachopra @nickjonas

It looks like Mama and Papa Jonas had a blast taking in all the celebration. They seemed to be fully absorbed into the Indian culture from rocking desi attire, to taking part in religious ceremonies.

After the Roka ceremony, there was a reception party with an outfit change. Friends and Family returned to party the night away. Though Nick, Priyanka, and Nick’s dad switched into western gear, Nick’s mother, Denise wore a pink sari continuing with the desi theme from the Roka and she looks adorable!

After all the celebrations during the weekend, Chopra headed to the sets of her new movie. The team of “The Sky is Pink” surprised Chopra with a special cake for the occasion. They went all out with a cake topper that looked like Chopra and Jonas, how cute is this!

They even got her this giant engagement ring balloon, so of course, Chopra had to pose for a snap with it.

The couple and their families headed to St. Catherine’s orphanage on Monday to meet with the girls there. Chopra danced to “Tu Ne Maari Entriyaan” with one of the girls and then Jonas sang them a song.

It seems after the celebrations, Jonas is back at work prepping for the release of his next track, “Right Now” and Chopra is working on her new film “The Sky is Pink.” From celebrating their love to honoring their hard work ethic, this power couple is serious example of relationship goals.
