New details about the MCU’s Wonder Man have just recently come out. According to a new report, Wonder Man Disney+ series will feature more episodes than She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Number of Episodes in Wonder Man
According to DanielRPK, Wonder Man will have 10 episodes, which makes this show has one of the longest runtimes. For now, She-Hulk, What If…? and WandaVision have nine episodes each. On the other hand, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvelran with six episodes each.
But neither Marvel Studios nor Disney have confirmed the numbers. They still have not disclosed any details regarding the show’s cast or any other detail.
That Twitter account also revealed another detail about the upcoming show. It writes: “Simon Williams will be starring in a show during the series. Marvel is currently casting Simon’s female co-star for the show that’s in the series.”
Simon Williams is a fictional character from Marvel Comics. Simon is a Hollywood hero who became Wonder Man. But interestingly, Wonder Man’s plot is heavily connected to Vision and Scarlet Witch in the comics.
Rumored Cast for the Show
Marvel has already confirmed that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play the role of MCU’s Wonder Man. The actor also portrayed the role of Black Manta in the DCU’s Aquaman. As all the movies of DCU will not see any sequel, the actor can easily feature in the MCU as a superhero.
But many reports claim that the studio is in talks with some major names to cast in the show. Reports from Hollywood suggest that Friends star Courteney Cox and Braking Bad star Bob Odenkirk are in talks with Marvel Studios. But there is no confirmation from any side yet.
But Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery will return to the MCU with this series. The character first appeared in Iron Man 3. Ben Kingsley again reprised his role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Who Is Wonder Man?
Wonder Man a creation of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Don Heck back and first appeared in Avengers #9 in 1964. The character started as an evil character. But he later became the founding member of the West Coast Avengers. But in recent comics, the character is introduced as a Hollywood actor.
Wonder Man is a the ion-powered superhero with other abilities like flight and energy manipulation. But he was later kidnapped by Ultron became the brain pattern of Vision. But worry not, he was resurrected to continue his superhero journey.
As it seems Wonder Man will have a massive role in Phase V and VI. As per reports, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the series. He is also directing Avengers 5 and 6 in MCU Phase VI.
This is not Wonder Man’s first appearance in the MCU. Back in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there was a cameo scene of Wonder Man. Firefly star Nathan Fillion did shoot the scenes for the cameo. But that scene did not make it into the final cut.
As per reports, Wonder Man may come in late 2023. But any release date has not been officially announced yet. As Disney is putting more focus on quality over quantity, 2023 is highly unlikely for the show to get a release.
