‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Trailer’: The Teddy Bear Goes on a Killing Spree on this Dark Slasher Thriller

Your favorite teddy bear from childhood is here to scare you! The first trailer of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has been launched, and the unexpected take on the Disney tale will send chills down your spine.

The film is a slasher thriller and will feature the beloved characters Winnie the Pooh and his best friend Piglet going on a killing spree. Ever since the film was announced, a section of the audience was skeptical about watching the adorable bear as a brutal murderer. Now let’s see how people react to the trailer.

Pooh and Piglet Go on a Rampage in Blood and Honey Trailer

The trailer shows Pooh and Piglet going on a rampage after being abandoned by their friend Christopher Robin, who went to college. The two grow hungry and desperate, eventually turning completely feral and wild. They now seek human flesh, targeting and murdering multiple people in the wild.

The trailer features Christopher returning to the forest with his wife and being chased around by his friends turned foes. Pooh and Piglet then set their eyes on a group of college girls living in a rural cabin. The release date of the film has not been announced yet. Watch the horrifying trailer below.

Fans now seem somewhat positive about the project, with one commenting, “This looks way better than I thought it would. I can’t wait to see it!” and another one writing, “Honestly this one of my most anticipated movies of the year. Time I saw the production images I was intrigued.”

A fan also wrote, “I thought the story was going to be something to do with crazy guys in the woods dressed like Winne the Pooh, this looks better than I had imagined.”

The Characters have been Changed a Little to Avoid Copyright Issues with Disney

The characters of Pooh and Piglet are now in the public domain, but Disney still holds the modifications and interpretation of the characters to be seen in films and TV shows. So to avoid any copyright issues, some elements were changed. Pooh is seen wearing a plaid shirt instead of the red t-shirt he wears in the Disney version, and Piglet features tusks.

“No one is going to mistake this [for Disney]. When you see the cover for this and you see the trailers and the stills and all that, there’s no way anyone is going to think this is a child’s version of it,” says director Rhys Waterfield.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Cast

The film will star Craig David Dowsett as Winnie-the-Pooh, Chris Cordell as Piglet and Nikolai Leon as Christopher Robin. Other cast members will include Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, Danielle Ronald, Natasha Tosini and May Kelly.

The project was announced in May this year. Talking about the tone of the film, Waterfield said, “When you try and do a film like this, and it’s a really wacky concept, it’s very easy to go down a route where nothing is scary and it’s just really ridiculous and really, like, stupid. And we wanted to go between the two.”
