Disney+’s series Willow, which serves as a follow-up to the 1988 blockbuster fantasy film of the same name, has been impressing the audience for the past few weeks now. The show is set 17 years after the film’s events, and follows a group of six heroes trying to save their world while fighting their inner demons.
Willow season 1 is now coming to an end, as the eighth and final episode of the season will be released soon. Fans are now excited to watch how the story of the heroes comes to a conclusion. So when will Willow season 1 episode 8 come out? Read on to find out.
Willow Season 1 Episode 8: Finale Release Date and Time
The eighth episode of Willow season 1 will be released on Disney+ on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 12 am PT / 3 am ET / 8 am GMT. The episode will act as a finale for the first season, as the season comprises only eight episodes in total.
Willow was launched with a two-episode special premiere in November 2022 and followed a weekly schedule with new episodes coming out every Wednesday. To watch the series, you will need to have an active subscription to Disney+.
The streaming platform comes with two types of plans: the with-ads plan is charged at $7.99 a month, and the without-ads plan comes at $10.99 a month. There are also yearly plans priced at $79.99 and $109.99, respectively. Disney+ does not provide a free trial for new viewers.
What to Expect from the Finale Episode
The final episode will surely feature an epic fight between the heroes and the Gales. Ruby Cruz, who plays Princess Kit Tanthalos teased what to expect from the finale in an interview and said, “You can expect satisfying teamwork from our two heroines [Elora and Kit]. You can expect the most epic magical fight you’ve ever seen.”
Erin Kellyman, who stars as Jade, added, “The finale is the complete and utter opposite to everything in episode 1. It honestly feels like a different show at that point. I don’t think I’ve ever watched anything where the first episode is so different from the last. You get transported into a whole different world, and it’s visual and emotional, and it’s incredible.”
Will the Show End after the Upcoming Episode?
The first season of Willow will conclude with the eighth episode. As for the second season, Disney has not officially confirmed the show’s renewal. So we will have to wait and see if the series returns with another season.
The official synopsis of Willow reads, “The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to unite the realms, who together helped destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness.”
“Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world,” it reads further.
