Maestro in Blue is the first-ever Greek series to premiere on Netflix. The first season of the drama landed on Netflix on March 17 and has been praised by the audience for its gripping storyline.
Before arriving on Netflix for international viewers, the show was aired on Mega Channel in Greece from October to December 2022. Fans are now wondering if Maestro in Blue will return for another season on Netflix. Read on to find out.
Will Maestro in Blue Return with Season 2?
As of now, Netflix has not announced the renewal of Maestro in Blue for a second season. The streaming platform usually takes a few weeks after a show’s premiere to decide on its fate, considering the viewership ratings and budget.
Meanwhile, Maestro in Blue has made it to the Top 10 shows list on the platform in several international markets. Also, Greek media has reported that the original network, Mega Channel, has already renewed the series for season 2.
The development was made way back in November 2022 while the first season was mid-way through. However, Netflix has not made any such official announcement till now. So it remains to be seen if Maestro in Blue season 2 arrives on the streaming platform.
The number of episodes in the second installment has not been announced by Mega Channel yet; however, it is expected to feature nine episodes, the same as the debut season. Additionally, the show was in production for a year and a half before its premiere, which signals that the second season will be released by early 2024.
What is Maestro in Blue About?
The series revolves around a musician who moves to a Greek island during the pandemic to organize a music festival. He falls in love with a 19 year old aspiring musician and soon finds himself getting involved in the problems of the local people.
The official synopsis for the show reads, “Orestis, a music teacher travels to the Greek island of Paxos to take over the local music festival. There, he meets Klelia, a 19-year-old ambitious girl who wants to study music in Athens.”
“Confronted with the small society of the island and all its pathologies, he will find himself involved in an extreme love story that will be a motivation to manifest all the social problems that plague an entire group of people. At the same time, a murder takes place which will change the plans.”

The series stars Christoforos Papakaliatis as Orestis, Klelia Andriolatou as Klelia, Orestis Chalkias as Antonis, Marisha Triantafyllidou as Sophia, Fanis Mouratidis as Fanis, Haris Alexiou as Haris, Yannis Tsortekis as Charalampos, Maria Kavoyianni Maria, Yorgos Benos as Spyros, Antinoos Albanis as Michalis, Dimitris Kitsos as Thanos and Stefania Goulioti as Alexandra.
Maestro in Blue is written by Christoforos Papakaliatis, who has also co-directed the show along with Akis Polizos. The series is produced by Giorgos Moshovitis through Foss Productions, with Stelios Cotionis serving as the executive producer.
