After ten captivating episodes, the first season of Daisy Jones & The Six has come to an end. The Amazon Prime Video series is said to be an emotional rollercoaster as it explores the rise and split of a rock band in the 1970s.
The show is based on the 2019 bestselling novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Fans who have binged all the episodes are now wondering if the series will return with another season. Read on to find out.
Will Daisy Jones & The Six Return with Season 2?
Amazon has not yet announced the renewal of the show for a second season. Moreover, Daisy Jones & The Six was marketed as a limited series, and the storyline in the novel has completely been adapted into the first season. However, showrunners Scott Neustadter and Will Graham have teased the possibility of a second season.
Talking about the future of the show, Neustadter said, “I think that would be amazing. If people are interested in this story and these people, maybe we’ll get an opportunity to do that. Leave the door open. Why not? If people enjoy what you’re doing and want more of it, that’s not a bad problem.”
Graham also stated, “We had the most amazing time making the show. For me, that question goes back to [author] Taylor [Jenkins Reid] and if she has another chapter for these characters in her head. If we got an opportunity to do it, I think, no question, everyone involved in the show would show up with bells on.”
The series went into development in September 2021 and released in March 2023. If the same trend is followed, and if the renewal is announced in the next few weeks, we can expect Daisy Jones & The Six to drop by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
What to Expect from Daisy Jones & The Six Season 2?
The show’s cast has shared their opinions on what the next season could be about, considering it gets green-lit. Sam Claflin, who plays Billy Dunne talked about the potential season 2 and said, “I actually already pitched my version of series 2. I still feel like there’s so much more to come.”
“But it’s not for us to say. Maybe Taylor Jenkins really needs to write another book,” he continued. Sebastian Chacon also added, “We do the 1980s European tour,” to which Josh Whitehouse joked that audiences would see ‘Eddie during his punk phase.’
Showrunner Graham also said, “What we tried to do is create a moment where you can feel how Daisy and Billy could be together. They’re now aware enough to know that that’s not the right road for them at that moment.”
Who will Star in Daisy Jones & The Six Season 2?
Since some of the characters died in season 1, the next season would not see the return of the whole cast. However, actors who are almost certain to reprise their roles include Riley Keough as Daisy Jones, Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne and Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko.
The cast will also include Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, Seychelle Gabriel as Julia, and Timothy Olyphant as Rod Reyes.
