Kate Middleton refuses to sign an autograph for a school kid
On Monday, May 22, 2023, the Princess of Wales stepped out in London and paid a surprise visit to the Chelsea Flower Show, where she spent a lot of time with school children. She marked her presence at the inaugural Children’s Picnic.
Along with this, Kate also toured different displays of the world-famous garden show with 100 kids from 10 different elementary schools. According to a report by People magazine, during her recent outing, a school kid asked her to sign an autograph.
At that point, the mom of three politely refused to sign an autograph for a school kid because she didn’t want to break a royal protocol. She told the school kid, “I can’t write my name, but I can draw.”
Soon after, Middleton who is a member of the British royal family drew a flower for a 7-year-old girl named Ruby. She also drew a tree and a pond surrounded by plants for the other children.
When Kate was asked again why she cannot sign her name, the U.K. native replied, “My name’s Catherine. I’m not allowed to write my signature, it’s just one of those rules.”
