Doja Cat loses 250k Instagram followers after bashing her ‘creepy fans’
Not long ago, the Grammy winning-singer Doja Cat lost 250k Instagram followers following her public spat with her fans. The fans of the famed musician describe themselves as “Kittenz.”
“My fans don’t name themselves s–t. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f–king ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house,” she wrote on Threads.
Soon after, Doja’s loyal fans mentioned that she was the one who introduced the moniker many years ago. On the other hand, she stated that she coined the term as ‘an alcoholic teen.’
Then, a fan entered the chat and asked the Get Into It singer about what they should change their social media handles to. Then, Doja told her fans that they should “delete” their “entire account and rethink everything.”
The California native also lashed out at her supporters who used her legal name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini on their social media pages. She wrote, “you making my government name your sn [screenname] is creepy as f—k.”
Shortly afterward, a Taylor Swift fan account told Doja that she would be nothing without her fans who have been there for her ‘through thick and thin.’ The musician replied, “Nobody forced you, [I don’t know] why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother bitch, you sound like a crazy person.”
How did the netizens react to Doja Cat’s mean behavior towards her fans?
After the harsh comment of Doja, several of her biggest fan pages including The Kittens Room, Doja HQ, and Doja Cat News deleted their Twitter accounts. Then, many users reacted to Doja’s mean remarks towards her fans.
A fan shed some light on the feline look of the singer at the 2023 Met Gala and tweeted, “Doja being mean to her fans for bc [sic] of the word kitten like her name isn’t doja CAT and she wasn’t dressed as a cat and meowed her way through an entire interview a few months ago oh she has lost her mind.”
Followed by a second fan who described the Say So hitmaker’s new tattoos as ‘demonic.’ Since then, Doja has deactivated her Threads account. Along with this, she has also turned off her comments section on Instagram.
