I start by saying, Justine Skye and Hailey Beiber are best friends, and Selena shared a longtime relationship with Justin Beiber. Coming back to the recent controversy, it seems like the two best friends did cross some boundaries. Read on to know who is Justin Skye and what is the recent controversy.
Who is Justine Skye?
Justine Indira Skyers, known professionally as Justine Skye, is an American singer. Skye, whose initial fame was from Tumblr, found a career in the music industry and signed with Atlantic Records at the age of 19.
The 25-year-old singer was born in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York City to Jamaican parents. Her mother Nova Perry, an entertainment lawyer, is of Afro-Jamaican and Indo-Jamaican descent and her father Christopher Skyers, a corporate merchandiser VP is Afro-Jamaican.
Justine’s grandfather N. Nick Perry is a politician, who is set to become the United States Ambassador to Jamaica. Skye first gained notoriety in her teens when she tagged along with her mother to a music panel held by performance rights organization BMI. During the Q and A, Skye stunned the panel by asking to sing. She performed a cover of Sam Sparro’s “Black and Gold”
Justine Skye’s Career
Justine Skye started her professional singing career when she performed songs to go with the book “Rules To Rock By”. She is known for having made a cover about “Headlines” by Drake which received 2 million views on YouTube. In 2012 she released her very first mixtape, Skye High.
As she continued on her rise to fame, her debut seven-track EP, Everyday Living, helped her land a deal with Atlantic Records in 2013. Her song “Hard Work” landed on BET’s 106 & Park Top 10. She released the album Emotionally Unavailable in 2015. During that time she made the song, produced by DJ Mustard, “Collide” which featured the rapper Tyga.

Justine Shades Selena Gomez
Justine Skye faces backlash for allegedly posting a Snapchat story shading Selena Gomez, shortly after sharing a photo with friend Hailey Bieber.

The contemporary R&B artist Justine Skye has been an inseparable part of Hailey Beiber’s close-knit friend circle for years now. This explains her beef with Gomez, who shared a long relationship with the “teen idol” Justin Beiber. This time, Justine crossed some limits.
Skye’s controversial Snapchat story has received backlash from Selena’s loyal fandom. In the story, she wrote, “Making TikToks every day like you haven’t got a sh*tty makeup brand to run? Hmmm… Just whack as hell.” The Kill Em With Kindness” singer, however, denied posting such a story.
… idk why anyone could think that after not posting on Snapchat for years I would go on Snapchat to say THAT. Obviously I was hacked.
Praying for y’all though

Justine Skye addressed the controversy and deflected blame, claiming that her account has obviously been “hacked.” She also mentioned that she had not posted on Snapchat “for years.” However, Selenators were quick to rebut, asking her why she was blocking them if she was innocent in the matter. Here are some of the tweets:
Why would someone hack you of all people 😭? And if someone did "hack" you, why would they say what they said 💀. It's just not adding up pic.twitter.com/wu3jyAr5tm

U think u're relevant enough to get hacked lol

If someone hacked you, wouldn't they post photos or messages? Something more meaningful? Why would they log onto Snapchat just to shade Selena 😭. You got caught shading her and now you're backtracking

This is not the first time that the 25-year-old singer became a source of controversy. In 2017, she kneeled down during a portion of her singing of the National Anthem at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York at a Brooklyn Nets game. Do you think Justine deliberately shaded Selena? Or was it Hailey who asked her to do so, eh?
