Wendy Williams is not married! The TV personality, while speaking to Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee on August 2, had revealed that she got married to a New York Police Department officer named Henry.
However, now her rep has come forward to clear the air and has claimed that the 58 year old writer is not actually married. The rep stated that she probably got carried away talking about her new relationship because of excitement. Read on to know the complete details of the bizarre development.
Wendy’s Rep Refutes Claims of her Marriage
Wendy’s rep, William Selby, has refuted the claims of her marriage. He said the reports of her marriage are inaccurate. “She is excited about a new relationship and probably got carried away in conversation,” said the rep.
When asked about who the mystery man in Wendy’s life is, Selby, said, “Wendy doesn’t wish to disclose details at the moment.” Selby, himself was rumored to be romantically involved with Wendy in 2020, after she finalized her divorce with long-time husband Kevin Hunter.
The whole confusion started on Tuesday, when Jason Lee recalled his phone call with Wendy. Apart from telling him that she was flying to Los Angeles later this week, Wendy also told him about her marriage.
“She says, ‘I’m married.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘I got married,'” said the podcast host. “I’m like, ‘You got married when?’ And she’s like, ‘I got married last week,’” he said recalling the conversation. Wendy did not share any further information about her marriage or husband with the host.
Wendy Was Earlier Married to Kevin Hunter
Wendy had been married to TV producer Kevin Hunter for 23 years until they finalized their divorce in 2020. The two cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation and decided to forgo any alimony for each other.
Soon after filing for divorce in 2019, Wendy had revealed that she was with a doctor who was in his 50s. Talking about her relationship, she said at the time, “I’m not on the market anymore. I’m not in love. I don’t know how I’m doing. I’m not in love but there’s somebody that I’m crazy about…It’s not who you think.”
“I get it, but when it comes time for the comfort of a man, I need someone in his 50s, too, and he’s gotta work. It helps that he’s a doctor. He’s been married. His kids are in their 20s, and yes, he’s black. He’s brown-black,” she had added.
The doctor in question was said to be Dr Darrin Porcher, a former police officer turned PhD scholar. However, he denied being in relationship with Wendy.
The Talk Show Host had Earlier Teased Another Mystery Man
Last year, Wendy posted a picture with a mystery man on her social media account. In August 2021, she shared a picture of herself along with a man in her car. The picture was reportedly taken on her son Kevin Hunter Jr’s birthday celebration.
“My son’s 21st birthday party on the yacht in #Miami was everything he wanted! Even my boyfriend,” she had written along with the photo. The post has since been deleted, and it is not clear whether the man in the picture was Henry, the one she claimed she got married to.
