As per various reports, Ray and Gemmell crossed paths for the first time on the set of the TV drama Band of Gold. Later on, down the lane, they played a married couple in the movie Peak Practice.

Stevenson and Ruth pulled the plug on their romance in the year 2005 after 8 years of marriage. The former couple didn’t have any kids. After his split, from Gemmell, he moved on his life with Elisabetta Caraccia.

Just like the late actor Ray Stevenson, Ruth Gemmell is an actress by profession. She was born in October 1967 in Bristol, United Kingdom. At the moment, she is 55 years old. Her full name is Ruth Katrin Gemmell. Her parents are divorced. She has 3 brothers.

When we shed some light on the educational qualifications of Gemmell, she went to the  Polam Hall School. Later on, she moved to London to pursue a career in acting. Then, she attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which was located in London,  England.

During the course of her career, Gemmell has played roles in both theatre as well as TV dramas. In the year 1990s, she played the role of Detective Constable Kerry Cox in the first series of the BBC police procedural Silent Witness, which was released in 1996.

In August 2009, she appeared as Rebecca Sands in two episodes of the TV show The Bill. She was also seen in the police drama Waking the Dead which aired on BBC. In 2010, she starred in episode 8 of Jimmy McGovern’s BBC drama Moving On as Joanne.

The next year, Gemmell played the role of Lady Shonagon in the adaptation for BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour of The Pillow Book, by Robert Forrest. Then, she appeared in the television series Penny Dreadful as Octavia Putney.

Ruth Gemmell has starred in Netflix’s hit show ‘Bridgerton’

Yeah, you read that right. Ruth is best known for playing the role of Lady Violet Bridgerton in Netflix’s popular series Bridgerton and in the miniseries Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which saw the light of day earlier this month on May 4, 2023.

While having a chat with T&C over Zoom, the Fever Pitch actress spilled the beans on her take on love. She spoke about the matters of the heart and stated she’s a romantic, but a realistic one.

At that time, Ruth said, “I think love is important. I think respect is important, and I think without those, it’s a very difficult world. I’m also not naive to believe that they’re easily obtained or that that road is not paved with difficulties, because it can be and has been, and most of us have been heartbroken.”

The British actress also talked about her character Lady Violet Bridgerton and told the media outlet, “But we have more options at our fingertips than perhaps Violet would’ve or her children, so it’s a different world. But I believe in love, definitely. It would be really wrong, really, if I’m pedaling love and didn’t believe a word of it.”

The 55-year-old movie star has starred in a couple of films such as Who Needs a Heart, Fever Pitch, Perfect Blue, January 2nd, Good, F, Storage 24, Offender, and Cliffs of Freedom.

Meet Ray Stevenson’s longtime partner Elisabetta Caraccia

After parting ways with his first wife Ruth Gemmell, Ray began dating Elisabetta Caraccia in the year 2005. For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, she is an Italian-based anthropologist by profession.

As per several media reports, Elisabetta was with her beau Ray until his death on May 21, 2023, Sunday. Although, till now, it’s unclear whether the two of them got married or not.

According to Opoyi, Caraccia is the founder and CEO of the anthropological research project Human Web Ltd. It has been stated that her dissertation was based on the writings of Alessandro Geraldini, the first bishop of the New Indies.

Along with this, Elisabetta served as the executive director of Hyman Web Limited, an anthropological project. As per Biographyzoom, her net worth is $60,000. She and Ray welcomed two kids: Sebastiano Derek Stevenson, and Leonardo George Stevenson.
