Transgender Model Brian Nguyen Wins Miss Greater Derry 2023, Gets Mixed Reaction

Brian Nguyen is officially the first transgender female to win the title of Miss Greater Derry 2023. She won the title under the Miss America Organization. However, the internet is divided over messages of criticism and congratulations pouring in.

The Miss Greater Derry is not a new competition, it has been around since 1987. The website describes the scholarship as “their achievements in scholastic, aptitude, talent, character, community service and poise.”

Only those between the ages of 17 to 24 years are allowed to participate in the competition.

What Did Nguyen Say?

Brian Nguyen took to Instagram to share her feelings. She wrote, “In the 100-year history of Miss America, I have officially become the FIRST transgender titleholder within the Miss America Organization.”

She also added, “No words can describe the feeling of having the opportunity to serve my community and represent my community for the very first time at Miss New Hampshire.”

In the end, she added “I am so honored to be crowned your new Miss Greater Derry 2023, and I am thrilled to show you all what I have up my sleeves. This will be an amazing year”.

People Had Mixed Opinions

While most opinions were positive, not everyone was thrilled with Brian winning the title. One user commented, “I’m sure he’s a lovely but I would have thought that, at bare minimum, the entrants would have to be a Miss?” Another user echoed the sentiments and wrote “This is so unfair for bio women. Like NO.”

Not all comments were bad though. Another user commented, “Oh my gosh! I had no idea you were in NH (I’m originally from there!). Very excited to see your year and to cheer you on. 💖🤍💙”.

One user also went political in the comments and wrote “You vote democrat your responsible for this crap”. However, this might not be entirely true.

US Court’s Recent Ruling

Earlier this week, the US Court announced that the Miss United States of America LLC does not have to include transgenders as contestants. The ruling said that the LLC cannot be forced into it as it would be an obstruction to the “ideal vision of American womanhood”, which is similar to what most criticisms were pointing at.

The ruling also mentioned that the LLC will be allowed to continue enforcing their “natural born female rule” as the First Amendment allows them to do so.

This ruling was issued after a transgender named Anita Green filed a lawsuit. She said, “I believe United States of America Miss is on the wrong side of history for choosing to actively discriminate against transgender people, but the road to creating meaningful change has always been a long and bumpy one.”

She also added that “Transgender women are women. My message has always been consistent and my message is this: every person has beauty.”

While this may be considered a major win for transgender women, some feel that this gives them an unfair advantage over women who were born as women.

Brian Nguyen will continue her journey, she is all set to participate in Miss New Hampshire in April.

  1. I swear to God if he wins Miss New Hampshire and then competes in Miss America, I’m gonna give up on life as there’s no hope for humanity. I’m just gonna be a dead man walking.

  2. God help ‘him’ look in the mirror and not hate who God made him to be. There is lots of insanity in this world, but this one takes the cake.

  3. Can we define women’s beauty contest? This is a fat ugly dude and everyone seems to be playing along like he’s not. Reality right there , but they pretend it’s another reality.

    • Exactly true, but I feel bad condemning him as a person, but not for taking a woman’s spot again! Most or all the women contestants will agree, but afraid and not allowed to speak out. Now days we say the transgender or ugly is beautiful and common sense eliminates the real winners. He was chosen just because he is a transgender and everyone is afraid if they are not politically correct and don’t give to the seemingly thought to be underdog. Soon biological women will lose half of the competitions in the west! So sad!

  4. If this person was a BIO female, she would’ve never won the contest. Shame on any female contestant who chose to smile and clap for this thief. I know they’re only 18 or 21 and maybe are too scared to show their true revulsion. But I would’ve loved for even just one of them to put down her foot and proclaim “Enough of this woke nonsense. I will NOT support a man stealing a title from a woman.”

    • I totally agree. I can’t believe they just stood there and clapped for him. Sure, they can put on makeup and dress the part but at the end of the day, they are not a woman. We have fought for our place in the world. And just because these guys like to play dress up, and wake up to say that they are girls, it doesn’t make it so. And if a lady had a figure like him, they wouldn’t even be invited to participate.

  5. Just imagine been a young girl that throw up after every meal just to stay thin and ”Beautiful” and get beaten by a fat chinese guy….. Women cant win their own beauty contest anymore…

  6. Sorry for the typos. I posted too quickly, previously. He has a pretty face. He has nice hair. He won a contest for females. He is not a female and has been given prizes intended for a woman. He is a male who likes “women’s / girl’s stuff”, which is fine with me, so long as it’s his choice and he’s over 18. What is not fine is saying that he IS a women and that any of us have to believe that nonsense. He has or had a penis and in his natural state, he is male. Adult males are called (and defined as) men. DNA taken today and 500 years from now, would prove that. BTW… he is also a person of worth and a child of God. We could certainly be friends. We could work together. We could be in the same family. None of that means that I or anyone else has to allow the opposite gender and sex into a competition which is for one or the other.

  7. Heartbreaking to see these young ladies lose to this disgusting and awful person. I agree with the previous posts that women have fought for their place in this world and then we have this human with the chromosomes XY, a biological male, come in WIN a beauty pageant! It’s a shame, it’s disgusting and I feel that the parents of the competing girls should have encouraged them to withdraw from the competition because at this point it’s a joke. Bryan is not a Miss and definitely not a beauty queen. Come on people, this is insanity!
