Power is Primal! Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which introduces some new interesting factions to the hit mecha-toy-based film series. The film will focus on the Maximals and Predacons, which can take the form of gigantic metallic beasts and animals.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh film in the Transformers franchise and acts as the sequel to the 2018 film Bumblebee. Continue reading to watch the trailer and know more about the film.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Trailer Introduces Maximals and Predacons
The trailer opens with the message: “For millions of years our world has transformed. But something else has awakened.” We then see the legendary Transformer, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee. The Maximals soon make an entry with the arrival of Optimus Primal, a gorilla-looking Transformer, along with Airazor, Rhinox and Cheetor.
The Autobots and Maximals then join hands to face off against their new enemies: the Predacons and Terrorcons, as the trailer jumps to some thrilling action scenes. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be releasing in theatres on June 9, 2023. Watch the exciting trailer below.
“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons,” says the official description of the film.
The Film is Based on the Beast Wars storyline
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is based on the Beast Wars, a fan-favorite storyline that debuted in the 1990s. The film is set in 1994 and follows events between Bumblebee and the first Transformers film that arrived in 2007. It will also focus on the origin of Autobots on earth and delve deeper into how they became the defenders of the planet.
The Maximals and Autobots will be seen fighting the Predacons and Terrorcons across the globe, from Brooklyn and New York City to Machu Pichu and Cusco. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is also said to be the first film in a new trilogy that is being developed by Paramount.
Meanwhile, fans have already given the trailer a thumbs up, with one writing, “This just makes me feel like a kid again. I may be a grown adult, but the child in me is loving this so much,” and another commenting, “Optimus’s voice damnn….it gives you goosebumps man whenever you heard it.”
Peter Cullen Returns as the Voice of Optimus Prime
Peter Cullen, who has voiced the iconic character in a number of previous films, will be reprising his role. Other cast members will include Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, Peter Dinklage as Scourge, Pete Davidson as Mirage, Liza Koshy as Arcee, Michelle Yeoh as Airazor, Cristo Fernández as Wheeljack and John DiMaggio as Stratosphere.
Additionally, Anthony Ramos will star as Noah, Dominique Fishback will star as Elena, and Tobe Nwigwe will play Reek. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is directed by Steven Caple Jr. with a story by Joby Harold and James Vanderbilt. Michael Bay has produced the film, along with Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Mark Vahradian and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
