Top Gun Maverick Soundtrack: Here’s the Complete List

The sequel to the 1986 blockbuster movie is going to be released soon.

Top Gun contains some magnificent fighter jet sequences that remain thrilling to this day and are unmistakably memorable. Yes, we’re referring to the 1986 film Top Gun.

Regardless of the military aircraft theme, it has a near-perfect soundtrack that portrays the late 1980s feel. This visual rollercoaster can be forgiven for its quotable lines, corny narrative, and gung-ho fighting.

The mid-story event (spoilers ahead) is heartbreaking, but it pulls the story along to a beautiful conclusion. The subtext isn’t the most subtle, but it’s hilarious to watch and compare notes with a friend. Tom’s love letter to the Tom Cat.

And now, thanks to the news of its sequel, “Top Gun: Maverick,” which will be released shortly in theatres, spectators of the movie can celebrate. However, some have forgotten the storyline of the original, so let us restore the memories for you.

Storyline Of Top Gun (1986)

The film follows Maverick, a hotshot pilot played by Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible, Edge of Tomorrow), who is assigned to the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School.

Maverick befriends Goose, played by Anthony Edwards (ER, Zodiac), but his cocky personality causes him to clash with the other pilots, including Iceman, played by Val Kilmer (Batman Forever, The Saint).

Then it’s revealed that Maverick isn’t only competing for the title of the best fighter; he’s also vying for the attention of Charlie Blackwood, played by Kelly McGillis (Witness, Cat Chaser).

What Are Fans Expecting From Top Gun: Maverick?

Fans believe it will be a fantastic follow-up to the 1986 film. Because Maverick is the main character, his narrative continues at Top Gun.

Goose’s son, Bradley Bradshaw, is a character in the new movie, so the tale of Goose will be included, allowing us to reflect on Goose’s death in Top Gun and how it affected his kid, among other things.

Iceman is the only other character from the 1986 film who will appear in Top Gun 2, and it will be fascinating to watch how he is handled in the sequel. He’ll undoubtedly be a Top Gun instructor, having earned the award in the first movie.

Maverick, on the other hand, looks to be forced to encounter the ghosts of his past and his worst fears, ending in a task that requires supreme sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.

Soundtrack Of Top Gun: Maverick

Fans appreciated the original version’s soundtrack, but it appears that the sequel has the most amazing Soundtrack just like its original one. So, why not check out the blockbuster movie’s soundtrack?

1. Danger Zone By Kenny Loggins

The 80s had some absolute tunes that will go on forever. Perfect music to listen to when tearing up a long straight highway on a motorcycle during sunset.

2. Great Balls Of Fire (Cover By Miles Teller) Original By Jerry Lee Lewis

This song has more heart and energy than any recent pop or dance song. It was over for Chuck as soon as that piano was lit. This man rocked the piano in rock n roll.

3. I Ain’t Worried By OneRepublic

Just like Top Gun, One Republic is timeless, spanning generations, decades, genres, and audiences! This music perfectly matched the movie in every way.

4. Hold My Hand By Lady Gaga

Gaga doesn’t need crazy production, just give her a piano and let her rock out. She never fails to surprise the audience with her outstanding performances.

5. Top Gun Anthem By Harold Faltermeyer

Steve Stephens is probably one of the most underrated guitarists out there. Thirty years ago and this still sounds amazing, much better than today’s “music”.

Other songs which are included:

1. Main Titles (You’ve Been Called Back To Top Gun) – From The Score

2. Darkstar – From The Score

3. You’re Where You Belong / Give ‘Em Hell – From The Score

4. Dagger One Is Hit / Time To Let Go – From The Score

5. Tally Two / What’s The Plan / F-14 – From The Score

6. The Man, The Legend / Touchdown – From The Score

7. Penny Returns – Interlude – From The Score

It appears that the sequel will be as well-known as the first. Are you looking forward to seeing the movie? Have you seen the original movie? What are your thoughts and opinions? Don’t forget to let us know in the comments section below.
