It further read, “Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

Apart from being a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and author, Tina was also a proud mom of four. Keep scrolling further to know everything about the four kids of the legendary singer Tina Turner.

Craig Raymond Turner

Craig Raymond Turner was the eldest child of the What’s Love Got To Do With It singer Tina Turner. She welcomed her son Craig with saxophonist Raymond Hill in the year 1958. Craig was born on August 29, 1958. At that time, Tina was only 18 years old.

Later on, when Tina tied the knot with Ike Turner, he adopted her son Craig. His father Hill passed away in April 1996 of congestive heart failure. His stepdad Ike died in December 2007 due to a cocaine overdose.

While having a chat with Oprah in 2005, the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll talked about her eldest kid Craig and stated he was a “very emotional kid” who reacted morosely to his parents’  abusive marriage. She told Oprah, “He’d always look down in sadness.”

In the year 2018, Tina revealed on Oprah’s Super Soul that her eldest child served in the Navy and soon after, he became a real estate agent. Unfortunately, he died in June 2018 by committing suicide. At the time of his passing, he was 59 years old.

Later that month, Turner took to her Twitter page and wrote, “On Thursday, July 19 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California. He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.”

In October 2018, Tina told BBC News, “I still don’t know what took him to the edge.” She stated that he lived in Los Angeles and he had recently taken up a new job and he had a new girlfriend that he planned to introduce to his mother.” She continued, “At that stage, he had said to me that he had never met a woman that he felt that way about.”

After Craig’s demise, the iconic singer tried to focus on the good parts of her late son’s life. During a 2019 interview with CBS This Morning, she said, “I have pictures all around of him smiling, and I think I’m sensing that he’s in a good place. I really do.”

Ronnie Renelle Turner

Tina gave birth to her second son, Ronnie Renelle Turner in October 1960. He was her second biological child. She shared her son Ronnie with her ex-husband Ike Turner whom she was married to from 1962 to 1978.

Ronnie followed in the footsteps of his famous parents and decided to step into the world of showbiz. He even acted alongside his mom in the 1993 hit film What’s Love Got to Do With It.

According to People magazine, he had to deal with a few legal issues as an adult. In 1986, Tina told Rolling Stone, “California wasn’t good for him; he was very influenced by drugs and didn’t want to go back there because of that reason.”

The Better Be Good To Me singer continued, “I cut him off financially, but I always had a string to find out what was going on and to get money there to help him if he needed it. Finally, he’s on his own two feet.”

As per various reports, he had two kids by 2000. Later on, he tied the knot with French musician Afida Turner in the year 2007. Keeping aside her music career, Afida has also tried her hand at acting.

Ronnie passed away last year from colon cancer complications. He died at the age of 62. At that time, his wife Afida shared the news of his demise on her Instagram page. She wrote “My God, Ronnie Turner, a true angel, huge soul, highly spiritual, my husband, my best friend, my baby.”

At that point, the Turner family also issued a statement that read, “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended in regards to Ronnie from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.”

Just a day after the demise of her youngest son Ronnie, Tina shared a tribute for him on the social media platform Instagram. She shared, “Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you. My beloved son.”

Ike Turner Jr.

Ike Turner Jr. was one of the two kids adopted by Tina Turner. Ike had his oldest son Ike Turner Jr. in 1958 with Lorraine Taylor. Ike walked down the aisle with Tina less than five years later.

During an earlier interview with the Mail on Sunday, Ike Jr. said, “Tina raised me from the age of 2. She’s the only mother I’ve ever known.” He is a musician by profession. Tina played a role in helping him to pick the instruments of his choice.

In 2017, Ike Jr. told Bobby Eaton, “My first instrument was drums, until my mother started making me break my drums down every day, so the piano was always there. So I started playing piano. I play guitar and bass. Everything except horn.”

The musician also stated that his father took him out of school when he was 13 years old to tour with him. He told the media outlet, “I ended up running his recording studio, plus going on the road with them.”

For some time, he even worked as Tina’s sound engineer after her split from Ike Sr., who wanted his son and ex to put an end to their professional relationship. Ike Jr. alleged, “When my mother and father separated, he did not want me working with her — and he beat me in the head with a nickel-plated .45 pistol.”

Later on, Ike Jr. won a Grammy for best traditional blues album with his father. He told Eaton, “I got a Grammy for Risin’ with the Blues, I produced an album of my [father’s], and my second Grammy, I started another category, an album produced and engineered by the same person.”

By 1985, Tina and Ike Jr. had fallen out of touch. During that year, he told Spin, “I know she’s busy, but I don’t know why she hasn’t called. I love her, she brought me up, she’s my mother. It kind of feels like she’s neglecting us, at least us three, me, Michael, and Ronnie.”

In the year 2018, he stated that he hadn’t spoken to Turner in over a decade. In an interview with Mail, he said, “I haven’t talked to my mother since God knows when — probably around 2000. My mother is living her life — she has a new husband and she’s in Europe. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with the past.”

Michael Turner

Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor’s son Michael Turner came into the world in the year 1959. He was adopted by Tina when she and Ike got married. Very little is known about Michael Turner. Michael had a hard time dealing with the divorce of his mom and dad.

In a 2018 interview with Spin, Ike Jr. who shares a close bond with his younger brother said, “Michael wanted my mother and father to get back together, and the next thing knew he was in the hospital. He was hurt by their being apart.”

As an adult, Turner dealt with addiction. He reportedly told the Sunday Mercury, “I know in my heart if I called Tina or my father, Ike, right now they would come and help me but I just can’t do it.”

Michael further added, “Tina was really good to me and I love her but I can’t live with anybody. I gotta be free to do what I want to do.” In the year 2017, Ike Jr. told Bobby Eaton that his brother Michael was using a wheelchair and had “several strokes and seizures.”

In 2018, Ike Jr. shared an update about his younger brother and told the Mail on Sunday, “Michael is in a convalescent home in Southern California and needs medical support. I’ve been to see him quite a few times.”

Ike Jr. went on to say, “He’s doing great.” He also mentioned that his mother had not visited Michael but she supported him financially.
