The Epic science fiction movie “Dune” is all done filming its sequel. The much-awaited Dune: Part 2 filming has officially wrapped up, and the news was confirmed by Dune’s lead star Timothee Chalamet on his Instagram. Timothée Chalamet With His Desert Dad!
Timothee Chalamet, who played Paul Atreides, ducal heir of House Atreides, in “Dune”, revealed rejoicing news for sci-fi fans on Instagram. “Dune: Part 2” has officially wrapped up filming and is moving at the correct pace per its scheduled premiere in 2023.
The Academy Award-nominee captioned his post: “DUNE 2 WRAPPED (with desert dad !!)”. In his post, the 26-year-olf actor shared a selfie with his dad, Marc Chalamet, who is an editor for the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). The picture was shared against the backdrop of a desert.
Fans immediately took to Instagram and expressed their happiness over the much-awaited film. CalderDune wrote: “Space Prophet 🪐.” prideofgypsies wrote, “Congratulations bro!” One fan wrote, “babe I’m so proud of you!! can’t wait to watch it xx.” One fan joked, “Does Austin Butler have an Elvis accent in Dune 2?”
‘Dune: Part 2’: Premiere Date, Cast And Plot
Even though Timothee Chalamet did not reveal any specific details about “Dune: Part 2”, it is confirmed that the sequel will officially shift into its post-production phase, and would be featuring more of the iconic desert scenery, just like the first part. As for the premiere date, the iconic sequel will premiere in November 2023, as scheduled earlier.
Dune’s sequel will follow the story from the second half of the original 1965 novel by Frank Herbert. Undoubtedly, the original movie’s director Denis Villeneuve will return to his director’s chair alongside cast members like Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Rebecca Ferguson and Dave Bautista.
Well, as expected, the sequel will feature new cast members such as Christopher Walken (as Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV), Austin Butler (as Feyd-Rautha), and Florence Pugh (As princess Irulan). The original movie Dune primarily covers the first half of the 1965 book by Frank Herbert. The movie was highly praised for its killer visuals, musical score and ambition. “Dune” grossed over $401 million worldwide over a production budget of $165 million.
