Ticketmaster Site Crashes Over 5000 Times Amid “Unprecedented Demand” For Taylor Swift

Fans are going bonkers over Taylor Swift’s upcoming “Eras” tour, and why not? The 11-time Grammy-winning artist is returning to the stage after a long hiatus of almost five years. Swifties are now complaining about the Ticketmaster site as it crashed multiple times on Tuesday (Nov. 15) amid a massive surge in demand for presale tickets. As a result, presale dates have been changed.

Historically Unprecedented Demand…

That’s the kind of impact Taylor Swift has on her fans. The reason that the multiple Grammy-winning artist hasn’t toured for years, fans are more eager to watch their favourite singer dazzle on the stage in her upcoming “Eras” tour. On Tuesday (Nov. 15), Ticketmaster faced major technical issues after a massive surge in demand for presale tickets for her new tour.

Initially, the presale date was set to Nov. 15. However, when the tickets went on sale yesterday morning in selected cities, Ticketmaster’s website crashed over 5000 times before 2 p.m. amid an “unprecedented demand” for Taylor Swift.

Ticketmaster initially denied it had any trouble with its site, “the site is not down” and “people are actively purchasing tickets,” but later came forward to address the issue. Many fans complained about being locked out for hours.

How Are Fans Reacting?

“There has been historically unprecedented demand with millions showing up to buy tickets for the TaylorSwiftTix Presale,” Ticketmaster said in a statement Tuesday. “If you are currently in a queue, please hang tight – queues are moving and we are working to get fans through as quickly as possible.”

Many frustrated Swifties, who has to spend time in online waiting rooms, stormed social media after facing massive issues with the presale ticket process for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Some said they have been waiting “in line” for nearly four hours and still haven’t had the chance to choose tickets.

One fan tweeted, “Sitting in a paused queue for over 2 hours for Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets is my villain origin story.” Usual $60 ‘nosebleed seats’ are reportedly being resold for $700. One fan reported that the resale ticket was priced at $33,750. This means that those holding the tickets have taken due advantage of this crash and the “unprecedented” demand” for Taylor Swift

What Is The New Presale Date?

Ticketmaster announced that it’s been forced to delay the presale release of West coast concert tickets until 3 p.m. after it mentioned hundreds of thousands of tickets have already been sold during “historically unprecedented demand.”

Not only this, but Capital one, who planned to release tickets to cardholders only, rescheduled the presale date to today (Nov. 16) at 2 p.m. local time. All presale codes and links sent via text will still work at that time, according to Ticketmaster.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will begin on March 18, 2023, and would run through the first week of August in the United States. The 11-times Grammy awardee who hasn’t toured in nearly five years revealed about her 2023 ‘Eras Tour’ today morning (Nov. 1) on Instagram.

The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can! Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these brilliant artists out on tour with me, tagging all the aforementioned artists.

She concluded, “I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming 🥰.” The previous post included all the details regarding the Us dates for the upcoming tour. However, international dates are yet to be released.
