The Witcher: Blood Origin Behind the Scenes with Cast Reveal

The Witcher: Blood Origin is a forthcoming fantasy miniseries based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher book series. It will serve as a prequel to Netflix’s television series of the same name. Netflix announced in July 2020 that a six-part miniseries prequel has been green-lit.

The series began production in August in the United Kingdom. Many updates for ‘The Witcher’ viewers were unveiled at the Netflix Tudum event, including the first look at the fantasy drama’s upcoming spin-off show, Blood Origin.

The first peek was made available as a behind-the-scenes short clip. Let’s get started with the latest news and behind-the-scenes footage from this impending spin-off. I’m confident that Witcher fans are overjoyed with all of the new content.

The Witcher: Blood Origin Synopsis

Blood Origin will take place 1200 years before the events of the television series, depicting the creation of the first Witcher as well as the events leading up to the “Conjunction of the Spheres.”

The Witcher: Blood Origin Behind-The-Scenes Footage

The footage includes a journey of the set of the prequel, which will follows the tale of the prototype Witcher and the events that led to the Conjunction of the Spheres. Blood Origin show creator Declan de Barra is seen presenting a table peruse of the show’s first episode, ‘Of Ballads and Bloody Blades,’ which was written by him and directed by Sarah O’Gorman.

The Behind-the-scenes footage also included a glimpse of an Icelandic destination where the installment will be partially shot, as they required a destination that looked like “the Earth has vomited up mountains out of nowhere.”

The Witcher: Blood Origin Cast Reveal

With a Thread, The Witcher’s official Twitter account unveiled the forthcoming cast members, which you can check below. The tweet included, ‘Give a Witcher welcome today to the cast and crew joining The Witcher: Blood Origin.”

Three different characters will lead The Witcher: Blood Origin: Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall, a personality from a dynasty of warriors tasked with protecting a King. Michelle Yeoh as Scan, the very last member of the nomadic tribe of sword-elves. Sophia Brown as Éile, an elite warrior honored with the voice of a goddess.

Here’s a complete list of the upcoming cast members:

  • Sophia Brown as Éile
  • Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall
  • Michelle Yeoh as Scian
  • Sir Lenny Henry as Balor
  • Mirren Mack as Merwyn
  • Nathaniel Curtis as Brian
  • Dylan Moran as Uthrok One-Nut
  • Jacob Collins-Levy as Eredin
  • Lizzie Annis as Zacaré
  • Huw Novelli as Callan “Brother Death”
  • Francesca Mills as Meldof
  • Amy Murray as Fenrik
  • Zach Wyatt as Syndril

In the behind-the-scenes footage De Barra also did an amazing thing by utilizing the opportunity to show off one of the underwater sets. Joking that Blood Origin would be entirely underwater, that elves in this universe have gills, and that the production will be converted as a Drowner bar for The Witcher’s sixth season.
