‘The Menu’ Trailer: Fine Dining Turns Into A Horrific Affair In This Dark Comedy

What’s on the menu? A lot of thrills, along with some dark comedy! Searchlight Pictures has released the trailer of their upcoming horror dark comedy film titled The Menu, and the film looks kinda mysterious.

The film will feature The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy, Mad Max: Fury Road actor Nicholas Hoult and Harry Potter’s Voldemort, Ralph Fiennes, in prominent roles. Read on to watch the trailer and learn more about the film.

The Menu Trailer Features Ralph Fiennes as a Sadistic Chef

The trailer shows a couple, Margot (Taylor-Joy) and Tyler (Hoult), getting on a secluded island for a culinary experience, along with a group of wealthy people. The group is hosted by Slowik (Fiennes), a sadistic and secretive chef who makes the finest meals.

At first, the trailer feels like a take on the fancy rich-people parties, where Margot feels out of place. But as the footage progresses, it reveals some horror elements. Chef Slowik and other cooks are shown preparing meals that have photos and even sensitive information about the dinner guests printed on the food.

By the end of the trailer, the drama intensifies as a person is shot and another get’s their arm cut off. The Menu will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September this year and will be released in theatres on November 18, 2022. Watch the gripping trailer below.

To overlook the cooking-related details in the film, French Chef Dominique Crenn was hired as the chief technical consultant. Crenn is the only woman in the United States to have received three Michelin stars and is one of the  Iron Chefs in Netflix’s Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.
