The Game Awards 2022: Full List of Winners is Here

The Game Awards 2022 took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 8, 2022. The award show was hosted by Geoff Keighley, creator, and producer of The Game Awards.

The Game Awards 2022 were held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on December 8, 2022, Friday. This year, we saw a whole lot of different categories for awards at The Game Awards 2022.

The star-studded affair consisted of appearances from many top stars such as Pedro Pascal,  Al Pacino, Bella Ramsey, Ken, Roberta Williams, Josef Fares, Aurora, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jessica Henwick. In addition to them, we all witnessed Halsey and Hozier take over the stage.

Which game won the biggest honor of the night?

Even though God of War Ragnarok led the list of nominees, Elden Ring won the grand prize for the game of the year at the Game Awards 2022. Along with this, Elden Ring also took home various awards in different categories including best game direction, best art direction, and best role playing game.

The winning moment of the FromSoftware’s team was interrupted when a crasher took to the stage, thanking “reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton.” A few moments after the award show came to an end, host Geoff tweeted, “The individual who interrupted our game of the year moment has been arrested.”

Apart from the crashers incident, the ninth annual ceremony was filled with many surprises as well. During the award show, we got the first looks at “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Street Fighter 6,” “Final Fantasy XVI,” “Dune Awakening,” “TEKKEN 8,” “Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty” and more.

Who were the other notable winners of the night?

God of War Ragnarök picked up the award for best narrative. Not only this, God of War Ragnarök which is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment also took home the awards for best score and music as well as best audio design. Bear McCreary, won the trophy for best score and music.

Christopher Judge as Kratos, the God of War Ragnarök, nabbed the award for best performance. The adventure game As Dusk Falls snatched the trophy for games for impact. FINAL FANTASY XIthe V bagged the awards for best ongoing game as well as best community support.

Stray which is developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna took home the awards for best independent game and best debut indie game. The award for best mobile game went to the digital convertible card game Marvel Snap. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom nabbed the award for the most anticipated game.

Moss: Book II developed by Polyarc won the award for best AR/VR game. God of War Ragnarök bagged the awards for innovation in accessibility and best action/adventure game. Bayonetta 3 was named as the best action game, meanwhile, MultiVersus secured the award for best fighting game.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land, developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo picked up the award for best family game. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope won the award for best SIM/ strategy game. Gran Turismo 7 was presented with the award for best sports/ racing game. The award for best multiplayer game went to Splatoon 3.

Ludwig won the award for the content creator of the year

Yeah, you read that right. Ludwig Anders Ahgren popularly known as Ludwig secured the award of the content creator of the year at The Game Awards 2022. This 27-year-old is a live streamer, YouTuber, podcaster, and esports commentator.
