Taxi Driver is returning today with its sequel, as Lee Je-Hoon will reprise his role of a crime-fighting Taxi Driver under Rainbow Taxi. Lee Dan will direct the series with the almost same cast returning from season 1. Other than Lee Je-Hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, Bae Yoo-ram, and Shin Jae-ha are all returning to reprise their role in this action thriller Korean drama.

Taxi Driver season 2 will bring us new adventures of the Rainbow Taxi group by punishing a new bunch of criminals within 16 episodes and 2 episodes every week. But some old evil faces will pop up to take revenge on this vigilante group.

Taxi Driver 2 will take over the Friday-Saturday slot at 10 PM on SBS and is going to replace Payback: Money and Power. Episode 1 of Taxi Driver 2 will come out on February 17 at 10 PM KST. However, global audiences can watch episode 1 at different times according to their respective time zones. 

  • Eastern Standard Time – 8:00 am on February 17.
  • Indian Standard Time – 6:30 pm on February 17.
  • Greenwich Mean Time – 1:00 pm on February 17.
  • Pacific Standard Time – 5:00 am on February 17.

Taxi Driver Season 2 is an SBS original drama that will be available on the network for viewers from South Korea. However, international audiences can enjoy the show on streaming platforms like Viu and Viki. International viewers will have to wait a few hours to get to see each episode’s subtitled version. 

What Happened at the End of Season 1 of Taxi Driver?

At the end of season 1, Do Gi and his Rainbow Taxi crew ended Baek Sung Mi’s reign in the criminal world by sending her to prison. Kang Ha Na assisted Kim Do Gi a lot legally and played a vital role in season 1. But she is absent from the season 2 cast even though she joined the Rainbow Taxi crew at end of the last season. Her absence has surprised the fans a lot.

What to Expect From Taxi Driver 2?

Viki officially explains this show: “Do Ki seals the end of the painful vengeance against his mother’s killer, but the wounds remain. The whistling that reminds him of his mother’s last moment still lingers around his ears. Ha Joon newly joins Rainbow Transport as a troublemaker taxi driver, and he holds Do Ki as his role model. Ha Joon accidentally finds a secret passage that leads to the underground maintenance room. What is this place for? How will Do Ki’s vengeful journey for the victims unfold along with the precious people around him?”

However, SBS’s synopsis about season 2 the show leads: “Do-gi and the Rainbow Taxi crew are back with a vengeance, & this time they’re headed to Vietnam.” It clearly indicates that season 2 will deal with some international criminals. However, a recent teaser also shows The Rainbow Taxi team will suffer some consequences while dealing with goons.

After Taxi Driver came in 2021, its season 2 return has made the fans more than happy for its great action scenes. Season 2 will start airing today and this will be huge for this action-packed Korean drama.
