Taboo Season 2 Is Finally On The Cards
Your four-year wait of hope is finally coming to an end. While information are scarce, creator Steven Knight stated in an interview with Spencer that there will be a Season 2. But no date has been announced for shooting. And the reason is pretty obvious. Well, the good news will be more amazing when you read what we have to inform you below.
The Script For Taboo Season 2 Is Already Written
Tom Hardy is busy with other projects. It’s possible that this will still be a matter of waiting. “Six of the eight [episodes] are written,” Knight said during a conversation with a source. “We’re trying to get stars aligned so that we can get our star [Hardy] back on set.”
“He’s Busier Than Me,” Knight also made a joke.
Filming Will Hopefully Begin In Early 2023
He went on to say that shooting would commence as “early 2023.” As you can see, shooting will begin in early 2023, and the release will be a long wait again.
“The second season of Taboo is really, really important to me, and it’s taken a lot of thinking, because I really enjoyed the first one and I want to be enormously fulfilled by the second one,” Hardy told Esquire in August of this year.
Adding, “We’re still playing with ideas: you could go linear, a continuation of time, or we could drop prior to London, or we could quantum-leap through time! I don’t know whether to go orthodox – there’s a series of that already written – but I don’t know if that’s the right way to go.”
Hardy continued to say that, “In my head I was thinking, ‘Let’s say they get to America, they get to Canada, fast-forward to 1968, the Tet Offensive, the Vietnam War, look at the CIA, the Viet Cong, the French in Saigon….”
Adding to his statement, “Take the Delaney family tree out in the jungle, and recreate the same family dynamics that were happening in London but with new people, thinking about how history and corruption repeats itself. It’s still Taboo, it’s still period, but it’s the Sixties. There’s something fun about that.”
We sincerely hope that filming for this project begins soon, since fans are eager to see another season. Well, that depends on Tom Hardy’s availability.
We will definitely keep you guys updated if any additional information becomes available. Till then, more and more wait. The hope for Taboo Season 2 is clear, but now the wait for filming to begin has started.
