SZA Debunks Beef Rumors Over ‘SOS’ and ‘Midnights’ Chart Battle, Praises Taylor Swift

Solána Imani Rowe, who goes by the stage name SZA, has shut down beef rumors with Taylor Swift over the “SOS” and “Midnights” chart battle. The 33-year-old singer took to Twitter and showered praises on the 11-times Grammy Awards-winning star, stating: “I genuinely love her writing and album.” Read on to know more about what SZA thinks.

SZA, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, has come forward to address fan beef rumors with Taylor Swift over “SOS” and “Midnight” chart battle. If you aren’t aware, SZA and Taylor Swift became the only women in history to “simultaneously chart at least 20 songs on the Billboard Hot 100”.

While SZA’s second album, SOS (2022), reached number-one on Billboard 200 chart, breaking the record for the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album, Taylor Swift’s Midnights returned to the top of the Official Albums Chart, becoming 2022’s Official Christmas Number 1 Album in December.

Fans sparked a possible beef between the two singers over this chart battle. However, the “Feeling Myself” star came forward and debunked beef rumors with Taylor. She took to Twitter and wrote: 

“Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but I see supporters arguing and I hate that. I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing! Everyone’s just tryna do their BEST as we all should. LOVE TO EVERYONE. Gn.”

In her tweet, SZA showered praises on Taylor Swift and revealed her love for “Midnights”, which gained overnight fame since its release. SZ also expressed how much she loves Taylor’s writing. So yea, all the fans who were speculating issues between the two artists, get over it!

How Is Twitter Verse Reacting?

SZA’s tweet has garnered over 193.2K views and more than 3k likes. One fan expressed on Twitter, “Midnights deserves.” Another Taylor fan wrote, “Taylor the first artist I see in the industry that gets some of you mad for… selling albums. An SZA fan commented,”SZA writes better than Taylor though.”

One chimed, “Swifties stop making enemies with everyone challenge. Another expressed, “why would people have beef over that?” A Taylor critic wrote, “bitter swifties being hypocrites whenever it comes to someone competing with Taylor music wise.” An SZA fan chimed, “Thank you SZA now can some Swifties stop acting like children.” 

After a long hiatus from touring, Taylor announced previously that she was going to tour back in 2023. “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” the Grammy winner revealed. However, then came the Ticketmaster fiasco.

According to Ticketmaster, over 2 million tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour were sold on Tuesday (Nov. 15), breaking the record for most single-day sales. This became a major reason for the site to crash over 5000 times on the pre-sale day. As a result of an “unprecedented demand” for “Eras Tour” tickets, Ticketmaster cancelled the sale of general tickets whilst a statement was released on November, 17.

However, in December, Taylor announced additional tour tickets for Verified fans, giving them a second chance to make it to the much-awaited Eras Tour. Her much-awaited tour kicks off on  March 18, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, and concludes on Aug. 5, 2023. The tour will consist of 52 concerts. Taylor would be dazzling her fans after a hiatus from touring for over four years.

As for SZA, she has come a long way after several career bumps. In a previous interview, she revealed that she was frustrated, and “mad as hell.” The Internet was pissed off on her behalf, especially because she lost Best New Artist to Alessia Cara. “You feel like you’re really falling short and you fucking failed [your fans],” she revealed.

FYI, “SOS” has made SZA’s new year even more special as it stands atop the Billboard 200 chart for a third consecutive total week, following its impressive debut week in late December. Well, for the present statement, we praise this artist for her wise move!
