Spotify Playlist in a Bottle: What is it?
Spotify Playlist in a Bottle is the music streaming service’s time-limited in-app experience that lets users create their musical time capsule for 2024. You can pick songs based on a number of prompts depicting your mood and create a playlist.
After that, you can seal it off in a virtual bottle or another piece and apply a digital seal on it. When the next year arrives, you can find and open it to remember what songs were you listening to when the last year began.
You will provide song titles as answers to three or more questions like “A song you’re going to kiss someone to this year,” “A song that reminds you of your favorite person,” “A song you need to hear live in 2023,” etc. This will create your tracklist for the capsule.
How to Make Your Time Capsule with Spotify Playlist in a Bottle?
If you want to make your musical time capsule using Spotify’s latest in-app experience, Playlist in a bottle, follow these steps:
- Go to the App Store/ Play Store based on your device and make sure you are using the latest version of the Spotify app. If not, update the app to the latest version.
- Now click here using your mobile device and Spotify will be launched.
- Next, choose the time capsule you’d like. You can select from a bottle, jean pocket, gumball machine, lunch box, or teddy bear.
- Next, you have to answer a series of prompts that will select the songs.
- Finally, digitally seal your musical time capsule and send it off.
Once done, you can share a personalized card to your social handles with the tag #PlaylistInABottle to let your friends know you’ve joined the trend.
When 2024 arrives, you will receive your personalized time capsule reminding you about your playlist from the beginning of the last year.
Is Spotify Playlist in a Bottle Available for Everyone?
Spotify has launched the Playlist in a Bottle feature in 27 regions and 18 languages. It’s available for both free and premium Spotify users on Android and iOS devices. However, it’s a time-limited feature and will only be available until January 31, 2023.
