Spider-Man: No Way Home has zoomed past the one billion mark and has become the first-ever movie to reach the $1 Billion mark during the pandemic.
The third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy also joined the club of the fastest movies to reach the billion mark.
Spider-Man: No Way Home Becomes Sony’s Top-Grossing Pic of All Time
According to the latest report, Spider-Man: No Way Home has reached about $405 Million (not adjusted for inflation) in Domestic Box Office which has already made it Sony’s Most Grossing movie of all time at U.S. Box Office replacing Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. It is also currently on the path to becoming Sony’s most grossing movie worldwide as well.
If this happens, then No Way Home will dethrone its prequel Spider-Man: Far From Home which stands at the top of the list with $1.13 Billion Worldwide.
Fastest and Only Film to Reach the $1 Billion Mark in 2021
This movie is fast! Even if Quicksilver was not in the movie.
The latest collection in Spider-Men films, Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the fastest movies to cross the one-billion-dollar threshold.
Some of the other movies that achieved this feat are:
- Avengers: Endgame – 5 days
- Avengers: Infinity War -11 days
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens -12 Days
Christmas Day was No Ways Home’s 11th day since release which ties it with Avengers: Infinity War at second place. The movie had already crossed the $900 Million mark worldwide on Friday.
A Huge Success Even During the Pandemic
What is worth praising in Spider-Man: No Way Home’s achievement is that it crossed the billion mark even if most theatres are still shut down because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
And to add more brilliance to this achievement, No Way Home is still not released in some countries like China and Japan which are a major existence contributing to the revenue of the movie.
If No Way Home gets released in China, it’ll only help increase its profits and bring it closer to the global total giants like Frozen, The Lion King, and Avenger’s Infinity War. It might even make it to the top 10 most grossing films of all time!
