South Korean Mystery “Decision to Leave” Trailer is Out; Know The Plot, Release Date and Cast

Long time, no Thriller? Director Park Chan-wook who directed movies like “Oldboy” and “Stoker” is coming up with a new mystery “Decision to Leave”. And guess what? The South Korean mystery film’s trailer is out. Read on to know all about the upcoming thriller movie.

The Closer you Look, The Harder you Fall…

South Korean director Park Chan-wook, who is known for his acclaimed movies like Thirst, Handmaiden, Stoker and Oldboy, is coming with a new thriller “Decision to Leave”. The new trailer does not make it clear what kind of movie is this, but one thing is sure, Park has many surprises in the bag.

The new trailer of “Decision to Leave” was released yesterday showcasing a star cast like Tang Wei who rose to prominence in Lust, Park Hae-il is known for “Memories of Murder” and pop singer Lee Jun-Hyun.

Even though the trailer doesn’t speak much, it has a tagline, “The closer you look, the harder you fall.” Well, the casting team has ensured to keep the mystery alive. The trailer may not have helped you with as many details about this upcoming thriller so let me help you with it.

The plot of “Decision to Leave”

The production team has kept details under the wraps but what I can tell you is that “Decision to Leave” narrates the story of a detective who falls for a mysterious widow after she becomes the prime suspect in his latest murder investigation.

Well, that’s not it. In the South Korean thriller Decision to Leave (aka Heojil Kyolshim)… “A police detective, Hae-Joon (Park Hae-il), is called in to investigate the mysterious death of a man who fell from a mountain peak. During his investigation, he begins to develop an interest in the man’s widow, Seo-Rae (Tang Wei), who is a suspect in the case.”

The South Korean film director Park Chan-wook’s films have gained notoriety for their cinematography and framing, black humour and often brutal subject matter. Isn’t that what thriller fans expect from a good director, eh?

If you’re wondering whether “Decision to Leave is worth-watching or not, I would simply say Yes. Well, the director has never failed to entertain us with his acclaimed thrillers like Joint Security Area, Thirst (2009) and The Vengeance Trilogy. I am sure this movie has a lot to offer.
