It seems like things are not well between Taylor Swift and Manuela! Recently, singer Manuela accused the You Need to Calm Down singer Taylor Swift of copying ideas from her visual EP for the music video of her song Anti-Hero. She dropped the video for the track on Friday.
After taking a closer look at the music video of Taylor’s new song Anti-Hero, which is inspired by her ‘nightmare scenarios and intrusive thoughts,’ Manuela posted a footage of both their videos to point out the similarities between the two of them.
Manuela has accused Taylor Swift of stealing visuals
Not long ago, Manuela took to social media and accused the All Too Well singer Taylor Swift of stealing visuals from her visual EP Glimmer for the music video of her song Anti-Hero, which came out on Friday.
‘I’m literally a #swiftie so it’s simultaneously painful and such an honor to even beg this question – am i on a moodboard??’ she captioned the recording. In the clip, Taylor’s video played on the top, meanwhile, Manuela’s clip played on the bottom.
In the first few seconds of the comparative videos, you will see both women looking in the mirror as clones of themselves stare in the background. Later on, in the video Manuela and her clone as well as Taylor and her clone exchange high fives.
Let us give you another example, both the music videos included a scene where Manuela and Taylor be seen of them climbing on the roofs of their respective homes. One of the most noticeable similarities was clones pushing each other. In Manuela’s music video, she is thrown off the roof, on the other hand, when we talk about Swift’s video, Taylor pushes her other self off a roof.
In another Instagram Story, Manuela stated that she knows so many people who follow her, that are ‘terrified to side with’ her because it ‘implies that they’re against Taylor.’ She went on to say, ‘She is POWERFUL. Who wouldn’t be terrified? But please: how do you think this whole thing makes me, a Swiftie, feel?’
Manu further added, ‘Can you picture me staying up to listen to midnights and to watch the Anti-Hero music video premiere only to watch my work play out at me? A #1 trending video on YouTube a copy paste of mine. Having to read promo posts that wink at a concept album like mine. Unfortunately I will not be shutting up about this anytime soon.’
Who is Manuela?
For those of you who are unversed, let us share with you, that the real name of Manuela is Manu Torres. Manuela goes by she/they pronouns on Instagram. She is an Indie musician who hails from Bakersfield, California. Her visual EP Glimmer which saw the light of the day on April 1, 2022 consists of a total of 6 tracks.
