Singer Kesha Discloses She Was Secretly Engaged but Called It Off

Kesha almost made it down the aisle! Not long ago, while having a chat with Rolling Stone, the Tik Tok singer revealed that she was secretly engaged at one point but maybe it wasn’t meant to be as she called it off.

For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, during her latest interview with the renowned magazine, Kesha talked about her forthcoming album Gag Order which is set to release on May 19. Along with this, she also spilled the beans on her love life.

Kesha reveals she was secretly engaged at one point

On Tuesday, the We R Who We R crooner sat down with Rolling Stone to promote her upcoming album Gag Order, which will be out on May 19. In the same interview, she also spoke about her personal life and she went on to disclose that at one point, she was secretly engaged.

Kesha told the publication that she wrote Too Far Gone, a song from her forthcoming album Gag Order after she and her mystery man parted ways. As of this moment, she has not revealed the name of her ex-fiancé or any details of her failed engagement. However, she has stated that ‘he is still a friend.’

Kesha’s dating history explored

When we talk about the love life of Kesha, she has been in a long-term relationship with writer Brad Ashenfelter. The pair started dating in the year 2014. They have kept their romance out of the public eye.

In May 2021, the two of them were seen taking a stroll together. Up until now, it’s unclear whether they have called it quits. Kesha has always been open about the fact that they were not in a monogamous relationship.

During a 2019 interview with Attitude magazine, the American singer-songwriter talked about Brad Ashenfelter and said, “He’s a sweetheart, but he also lets me be me.”

At that time, Kesha went on to say, “You know, I’ll call him and be like, ‘I had fun tonight, I met a sweet girl and we had a really good time.’ And he’ll say, ‘Cool, babe, I love you.’ It’s so nice.”

Then, the California native also mentioned that Ashenfelter recognized her “needs to run free” but that she would “always come back to the barn for apples from my boy!” From August to November 2010, Kesha was rumored to be dating Australian drummer Alex Carapetis.

Last year, in June, Kesha took to her Instagram page to tell her fans that she was still exploring her sexuality. In a since-deleted Instagram post, she said, “I’m not gay. I’m not straight. I don’t know what I am. I love people.”

The Your Love Is My Drug singer further added, “I love people because we are all our own little consciousness journeys, dancing around the sun  how weird and interesting and fun this life is, right?” She concluded the post by writing, “I refuse to be anything, really, except for open to it all .”
