Frank Ocean was supposed to headline Coachella in 2020

The Novacane singer was previously scheduled to headline Coachella, one of the most highly anticipated festivals in the year 2020. However, the music festival was delayed by COVID. He last performed at the popular music fest in 2017.

In 2020, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against the Machine were all set to headline Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the Indio desert in California. Then, the festival which takes place in April was postponed to October 2020 in the wake of Covid-19.

Other artists who were set to perform at the music festival included Calvin Harris, City Girls, Big Sean, Night Owls, Omar Apollo, and Rex Orange County. The music fest was finally scrapped altogether in April 2021.

Then, Riverside County Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser said, “The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival currently scheduled for April 2021 are hereby canceled.”

Kaiser went on to say, “This order is intended to reduce the likelihood of exposure to COVID-19. If COVID-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk.”
