What Is Severance About?
The show is about how far one can go to separate their work and personal life. The story focuses on Adam Scott, who plays Mark Scout on the show. Mark is the boss at Lumon Industries. The unique thing about this work place is that the employees’ memories are surgically divided.
This means that when they are at work, they have no recollection of their personal life and vice versa. The story unravels as Mark finds himself in the center of the storm and confronts the true nature of the work and also himself.
In season 1, we see that a stranger who does not work at the company urges the employees to question their job and search for answers. The season finale will be premiered on the platform this Friday, April 8th.
Who Stars In The Show?
Apart from Scott, the show also stars Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, Tramell Tillman, and Christopher Walken. Severance was created by Dan Erickson who is also an executive producer along with Chris Black, Mark Freidman, John Cameron, Stiller, and Andrew Colville.
The series is directed by Ben Stiller. Talking about the show, he said “It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show — and the level of fan engagement.” He added that he first read about the show over five years ago.
